COVID-19 UPDATE: Our practice is OPEN.

To our Valued Clients,

The health and well-being of your pet is our top priority. As news of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in our community continues to develop, we are monitoring the situation closely.

At this time, our clinic remains open and is operating under regular business hours.

While the CDC and other health authorities have indicated that dogs, cats, and other domestic animals are not considered at risk for contracting COVID-19, we are taking extra precautions to ensure the health and safety of humans within our facilities— notably our clients and staff. Keeping our practice "hospital-clean" has always been a priority for us, and we continue to do so. Additionally, for the safety of our team and your family we are monitoring CDC recommendations and will continue to increase our attention to cleaning frequency and methods accordingly. We are happy to provide options for hand cleaning for both clients and team members, and we work closely with our staff to ensure that anyone who is not feeling well understands that we support them staying home. To our customers:
If you are feeling ill or experiencing flu-like symptoms and have an upcoming wellness (not critical) appointment, we kindly ask that you call us to reschedule.
If you are healthy with no signs of illness, please bring your animal to our hospital and practice social distancing including no physical touching, appropriate hand washing and keeping 6-10 feet of distance from others.
We are moving to a client-free building, but for exceptional and end of life circumstances.
Please remain in your vehicle when you arrive and contact us either by phone 412-212-0030 or using the Medici App (available in the Apple App store and Google Play store) using code ASTEPUP. You will need to connect with the A Step Up Triage Team and we suggest preparing the app prior to leaving for your appointment.
A staff member will provide curbside service including retrieving and returning your animal.
The drive-thru remains open for all food and medication pickups as well as sample delivery (stool, urine, etc).
If your pet requires urgent care or has a medical emergency, and you are ill, please arrange for a trusted friend, neighbor, or healthy family member to transport your pet to our hospital. If you call ahead, we will gladly accommodate your representative and make appropriate arrangements.
If you do not have a trusted friend, neighbor, or healthy family member to transport your pet, please call 412-212-0030 so that we can help with alternative options to have your animal examined.

If your pet requires urgent care or has a medical emergency after our normal business hours, the following critical care practice(s) will be assisting our patients:
PVSEC 412-366-3400
1535 Washington Rd.
Washington, PA 15301

MedVet 724-717-2273
2810 Washington Rd.
McMurray, PA 15317

For more information and health guidance regarding COVID-19, please visit the CDC or WHO websites. For additional questions, please contact us at [email protected] - 412-212-0030 - or through the Medici App using code "ASTEPUP." Our staff are free to connect with through the A Step Up Triage Team account during normal business hours.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation. We look forward to seeing you and your pet soon.

***UPDATE*** Pearl has been found and brought home, thank you everyone for all of your shares!

Good morning everyone, we received the following information about a lost dog. If you see her please give them a call:

Help,

Our 7 month old English Setter puppy, Pearl, took off after a rabbit on 1/23/2020 and is lost. My husband was at Koscheck Game Farm in Prosperity Greene County on Fonner Road. She is tricolored, with a pink collar with donuts on it. We looked for hours and days since, talked to dozens of neighbors, but no one saw her.

If you hear or see her, please call us at 412-580-5437. She is micro chipped and we are praying someone finds her and turns her in so she can home to us, we miss her so, so much.

Thank you
Donna and Chris Barth
