Adoption updates 😻
❤️Madison and her catten Orangey went home together
❤️Trent won hearts in the kitten room
❤️Ashe found his purr-fect people
❤️Jingle’s fur-family picked him up before we opened today

Tonight’s book club was small but mighty. We enjoyed some lively discussion around Lili Hayward’s book A Midwinter’s Tail.

Kitties Dotty and Madison tried their best to join in, and we were bookended by sleeping Phoenix and Winston.

Our next book club gathering will be on March 18, 2026 where we’ll be discussing We’ll Prescribe You a Cat by Syou Ishida (bonus book: How to Train Your Human by Babas).

Brownie Troop 20517 from Pine-Richland visited us this evening as part of earning their pet care badge 😻
The girls did a wonderful job learning about the kitties, they asked lots of great questions, and even brought donations of food, litter, and toys!

Adoption updates ❤️
😻 Little Bobby, our CH kitten wasn’t at the lounge long! He found the perfect family, they had done their homework and were ready to adopt this special needs baby.
😻 Sonny and Angelica were adopted together! Adopters, mom and son, found their perfect kittens to make the holiday season more special. 
😻 Cobra Kai was chosen by a previous adopter to go home and join a KQ alumnus.

We wish these fur babies a long, happy life filled with lots of love and plenty of snuggles 🥰

Slate, who has been in foster for a bit, is officially a foster fail (we call it a foster win!)
His foster mom fell in love with this deaf, quirky boy🥰

40 cats currently at the lounge
38 cats/kittens in our foster homes

❣️508 adoptions this year so far (just under 3500 total adoptions since we started in 2017)
💔 14 cats/kittens were lost due to illness/old age this year
💕 12 cats that weren't friendly enough to be adopted were placed in barn homes this year
💓 16 cats were trapped & relocated from a trailer park where the trailer they were living at was being demolished
🐈‍⬛ just over 150 cats & kittens in our care were spayed/neutered this year
🩺 76 emergency/sick vet visits totaling (a whopping!) $28,140.59 this year so far.

Then there is the building care & utilities! $39,600 in rent. $5,800.21 in electricity expenses. $907.86 in gas expenses. $685.11 in water/sewer expenses.

And don't forget food, litter, insurance, internet, daily cleaning supplies, etc.

It's not easy or cheap to run Kitty Queen, but we do the best we can with what we got! We're so proud to be able to help our community and save kitties, while providing a fun & exciting place for events, cat cuddles, and volunteer opportunities for people of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities!

We always need & appreciate donations (including monetary, supplies, or volunteer hours) and couldn't survive without your kindness and support 😍

As the founder & director of this incredible organization, I want to sincerely thank everyone of you that have donated, volunteered, shared posts, liked posts, and especially those of you that have adopted.
