From the soil on Fleury Way straight to your table. 🌱 There is nothing like watching collard greens go from the field to somebody’s dinner plate and knowing exactly where they came from and who grew them.

That is what Oasis Farm is about. Fresh food, real community, right here in Homewood.
Oasis Farm is a ministry of Bible Center Church and this is what that looks like in real life.

Real talk, the farm runs because people show up. Every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday our crew is out here harvesting, packing, washing and doing the work that gets fresh food to this community. We are looking for a few more people who want to be part of that this season.

The Workshare Program is simple. You give us 4 hours a week and we send you home with vegetables you helped grow right here on Fleury Way. No experience needed, just show up ready to work and learn.

Oasis Farm is a ministry of Bible Center Church and this program is one of the most direct ways to plug into what we are building in Homewood. Come grow with us.

We can't stop thinking about how much fun our Remake Learning Day was

The littles took over the farm last Saturday and honestly we did not mind one bit. Kids were out here touching flowers and making music, smashing petals onto bags to pull out the color, pressing seeds into clay and walking away with sunflower seeds grown right here on this land. You had to see the look on their faces when they figured out that touching a flower could play a note on a computer.

That is the kind of magic that happens when you bring kids to a real working farm in the middle of their own neighborhood. 🌱

Oasis Farm is a ministry of Bible Center Church and moments like this are exactly why we do what we do. Growing food, growing community, growing the next generation right here in Homewood.

Fun fact: those weird little lumpy things we found during cleanup at the Solidarity Garden are praying mantis egg sacs and each one holds up to 400 eggs. 👀 We found THREE of them. Praying mantises are some of the best natural pest controllers around, so if these survived the winter, the Edible Park is about to have some very helpful new neighbors hatching out come May or June. We love to see nature working with us out here. 🌿

Y'all came out in the RAIN and we are still talking about it. The Garden Kick-Off was everything. Seeds went fast, the greenhouse was full, and the community showed up like they always do. That is Homewood for you. 🌱 Thank you to everyone who came through. The season is officially started!
