Garfield Farm Mission Statement: Garfield Community Farm provides fresh produce and educational opportunities with our neighbors and volunteers, and seeks to demonstrate God's restoration of creation through urban agriculture in the Garfield community.

Interested in becoming a sponsor of our 16th Fall Benefit? We are now offering 5 Sponsorship Levels! Sponsors play a integral role in helping GCF carry out its vision in the neighborhood of Garfield.

On Friday, Sept. 12, we will be celebrating our 16th year as an organization at the beautiful headquarters of Tree Pittsburgh complete with modern, open spaces and views of the Allegheny River. It will be an evening of great appetizers from local chefs, cocktails and beer, and some amazing art, as we celebrate the impact of Garfield Community Farm in 2025.

We have plenty to be grateful for again this year! Our education work with local youth has expanded, we’ve started restoration work on one of our remaining wild spaces, we completed a beautiful new nature-inspired play space, and we’ve added opportunities for local artists, activists, cooks, growers, and community members to engage in meaningful ways.

Garfield Community Farm invites you to our 7th Annual Fall Fundraiser—you don’t want to miss it! Our event venue is the beautiful Tree Pittsburgh headquarters complete with modern, open spaces and views of the Allegheny River. It will be an evening of great appetizers from local chefs, cocktails and beer, and some amazing art, as we celebrate the impact of Garfield Community Farm in 2025.

✨WORKSHOP THIS WEEKEND!✨
Join us to learn how you can extend your garden season into the fall! We’ll focus on planting a fall garden in the ground or in containers. We’ll chat about growing cool weather crops like collards, kale, carrots, spinach and more, preparing your garden space for the season change, growing in containers, and tips to have a bountiful fall harvest!

Each participant will receive a free cool season plant seedling to grow at home.

As always, this is a free and family friendly event!!

This workshop is part of our Food and Knowledge to the People Project which aims to increase access to fresh produce, teach skills to grow and preserve food, and provide opportunities for people-to-people knowledge sharing and hands-on experience that helps build the confidence to grow culturally relevant and affordable produce. Many thanks to the SWPA United Way Community Food Solutions Grant program for supporting this project!

Today, we celebrated the completion on The Jungle B.A.S.E. This nature-inspired play space was co-created by , the fabulous youth of , and GCF staff.

This space was generously funded by , , and the donated labor of dedicated volunteers.

This is the first nature-inspired play space in the neighborhood of Garfield and help fills a major gap in the neighborhood—safe and accessible outdoor play spaces for youth ages 4 to 12.
