Join us Saturday, July 20th for one in a limited series of monthly Intro to Scent Work Seminars led by Joanne Holliday.
This seminar will introduce you and your pet to the incredibly rewarding activity of scent work. Scent work is an activity that uses real-world environments and can be done almost anywhere. Every search has the potential to be a dramatically different & highly stimulating experience for both your dog and your whole family just by changing hide placement, or searching under different weather conditions. By participating with your dog, you’re giving them the freedom to express and refine their natural talents, and they are giving you a glimpse into how they “see” the world. See below for enrollment information.
Just a few of the many benefits of scent work include:
**Dogs easily burn lots of mental & physical energy doing searches
**Searches can be done anywhere you can take your dog
**No prior training is required and no obedience is needed
**Shy or fearful dogs build confidence and overactive dogs put their energy into fun searches rather than anxiety.
We are very excited to have Joanne as part of our team as our Scent Work Academy Instructor. She has been training dogs for more than a decade, and still loves every minute of it! While she enjoys obedience training immensely, her nose work classes have become a continuous source of pleasure for both her and (she hopes) her students. She believes that dog training should be a joy for both the trainer and the dog, and tries to instill that feeling in all her students. Joanne shares her home with Rue a Doberman Pincher. Additionally, Joanne is an AKC certified CGC Evaluator.
This is a two to three hour class where you will not only learn technique, but apply it. Admission is $200 for you and your pet and includes equipment. Or $175 for The Dog House members. Use the link to enroll in bio (a payment link will be sent to you). Call 267-317-9282 email [email protected] for more information.
