Six-month old Tofu asked her hoomans nicely to bring her in to visit with us today. This gorgeous husky was eager to show us that she's learned to sit and shake on command, and LOVES freeze dried treats. Great seeing you guys!

Ruby Spice Summersweet is in full bloom! This shrub is so versatile- full sun to part shade, sandy or clay soil, can handle drought or be planted in a damp area, reduces erosion, is low maintenance, has an incredible aroma, and attracts every pollinator in the neighborhood. Stop by and see what's so amazing about it, but all you'll have to do is smell a flower and you'll be hooked!

Autumn Sun Cut-leaf Coneflower towers over the rest. It makes a statement in the garden, reaching heights of up to 7' tall and 4' or more wide.

Plant for privacy, for pollinators, as a specimen, in a wild or natural area, and watch this beauty bloom for up to two months in late summer. Bees and butterflies swarm to it. And it's 25% off!

Garden Team Member Anna located 4 (yep, you read that right, FOUR!!), tiny Monarch cats this morning on milkw**d we have for sale. This is getting to be a problem, y'all! Our enclosure is filling up and we've got fewer milkw**d to sell. These are on Swamp, Butterfly W**d, Showy, and Sullivant's.

Seriously though, if anyone would like to purchase one of the plants with a caterpillar on it, they are available.

We had a very special release today- our first ever Monarch butterfly! Garden Team Member Reagan spotted a Monarch cat on one of the Swamp Milkw**d we had for sale, so we placed it in the enclosure and watched it grow. Today he eclosed from the chrysalis and was released in the early afternoon.

Shortly prior to his release, a tiny Monarch cat was found on the Sullivant's milkw**d we have for sale. So the cycle continues!

If you want to entice Monarchs into your garden and help support these amazing insects whose numbers are dwindling, we still have plenty of milkw**d: whorled, poke, swamp, Sullivant's, butterfly w**d, and showy. Poke milkw**d can even handle some shade!

Released the last of our Eastern Black Swallowtails today! This year we had 3 males and 3 females. May the wind favor all of you!

Interesting fact: Only Michigan and Iowa do not have state insects. House Bill 5642 was introduced in 2021 to designate the Black Swallowtail the official butterfly of Michigan, but it did not make it out of committee.
