Cyber would like to remind everyone that we are open seven days a week, which means he can be adopted TODAY! While he loves the kiddie pool, he would much prefer to play in a comfortable, loving home.

This floppy-eared boy has been in the shelter since March, and he's confident his forever family is out there. He does seem to have infinite energy and would probably make the perfect hiking buddy (in appropriate weather, of course). Cyber knows sit, shake, and he's primed and ready to learn new tricks!

✨ Friday Foster Feature ✨

Behold...a queen! Sheeba is a lady who is always cool, calm and collected - unless the water hose is out. She's the paw-fect package: independent when you need some space, playful when it's time to get silly, and loving when you need support.

"Sheeba has adjusted to our home, easy girl. She now has been introduced to our big and small dog and does fine. Sheeba would prefer not to be kenneled, but sleeps on her bed outside the kennel all night, no issues. Sheeba loves the play dog pool and the water hose!"

Sheeba is dog-friendly and is still searching for her forever home. Let's make it happen, Internet! Email [email protected] to set up a meet and greet.

We are overflowing with chicken thanks to a generous donation from Costco! The retailer donated a whopping 1600 pounds of rotisserie chicken earlier this month to spoil the dogs at MCACC. Due to the fatty content of the food, all of the chicken will be boiled before being distributed to the pups! 🐔

We are so thankful for their generosity, and we know our shelter residents are grateful, too! Find out more how you can donate and support our animals at https://www.maricopa.gov/281/Donate.

We urgently need fosters! 🚨 All of the pets featured here have been struggling to deal with shelter life and would love a temporary home to live in to ease their stress. Our fosters give these pups an environment where they can thrive while preparing them for adoption.

When you become a foster, we can provide you with food, leashes, toys, treats, and other items to make their stay more comfortable. All you need to do is to provide a home to an animal in need!

To sign up to become a foster, visit Maricopa.gov/FosterPets.

90% of jurisdictions across North America require pet licenses. Maricopa County Animal Care & Control's licensing partner, DocuPet, provides easy-to-use licensing services to residents. Paying a "fee" to place an I.D. tag on a pet's neck isn't a tax; it's a lifeline for local animals in need.

Plus, when you license your pet, they become an official member of the community! To learn more, click here: https://bit.ly/3EA7NBU

Reminder: Dogs can't control their temperature as well as humans do because they can't sweat. This makes them more at risk of heat stroke in the summer, so make sure you're taking precautions to keep them cool and hydrated!

Brutus and Moose were two chunky seniors who were found tied to a pole outside of a hospital two years ago. The owner, who was homeless and receiving medical care at that hospital, told us they couldn't care for the duo any longer.

A woman from Colorado heard about their story and took the leap, driving down to Phoenix to adopt them together! Since then, they've lost weight, Brutus' lumps have shrunk, and they have reached the wise old ages of 15 and 16. Thank you for adopting, Michele!

If older women are your type, then you're in the right place! 😉Sweet 8-year-old Ariat is one of our spicy singles looking for love! She's sassy, sweet, and a well-seasoned pro at all of the things: fetching, sitting, cuddling, and best friend-ing.

Ariat has been in the shelter since March, and she thinks she's overlooked because of her age. But we want to prove her wrong! Spunky older pups like her can switch from play mode to snuggle mode at a moment's notice, making them the perfect companion for every adventure.

Ariat is waiting for her forever home at the East shelter: https://apps.pets.maricopa.gov/adoptPets/Home/Details/A5134799
