For all those wondering about what happened to Luna, Pink Puppy Club President - she was adopted a few weeks ago! 🥳 Unfortunately, even after going viral, no owner came forward for this sweet lady. But her new adopter, who already is an experienced husky owner, was excited to start the next chapter of her life. She even wore shoes to match Luna's coat. 💗

We don't see many pink dogs in the shelter, but we have hundreds of other dogs available for adoption in varying colors, ages, sizes and breeds! Learn more at Maricopa.gov/Pets.

Bronn is a hidden gem, but it's finally his time to shine! 🔆This handsome guy went on a day foster hike with one of our volunteers and proved to be a social, well-mannered boy who is more than ready to find a home.

"The park was very crowded but Bronn didn’t get stressed at any time. He was approached by enthusiastic children, calm adults and dogs of every size and disposition. He never lost his calm, cool composure...He followed a bigger pup around and didn’t let the little yappy ones bother him. He didn’t even bark back at them."

Sweetums is on a mission to steal your heart! She's a 7-year-old lady who loves to stop and smell the flowers right by your side. She's a gentle treat-taker, although she might spit them back out later. (Not very polite, Sweetums, but we understand your refined tastes.)

Miss Sweetums did have a microchip, but we were unable to reach the owner. Nearly two months have passed, and she is still in need of a forever home. She would prefer to be the only dog past on her interactions with other dogs in the finder's home.

Alt rock/metal/emo fans, this one is for you! Astrid was very excited to go on a doggy field trip yesterday - but she had no idea she would be spending the day with Christian Coma of Black Veil Brides fame and his wife, Alexandra! 🫨 The couple even got a drawing done of all of them together!

Astrid's new friends fell in love with her soft, wiggly personality and would have adopted her that day if they didn't already have dogs at home. Astrid is a one-and-only type of diva, after all.

Cazzu was a very good girl on her doggy field trip last week. So good, in fact, that she was adopted that same day! 💙

This family took Cazzu to PetSmart to get her a toy, where she met Charlie, an employee at the store. Charlie wasn’t supposed to be working that day, but happened to pick up a shift and immediately fell in love with this pretty pittie. She would later meet the family at the East shelter to give Cazzu a forever home!

✨ Friday Foster Feature ✨

We've learned so much about Shadow in his foster home! He gets along with other dogs and enjoys car rides, especially if it involves a trip to Dairy Queen. He just started attending PetSmart training classes thanks to One Love Arizona, and the rumors are confirmed true: He's a good boy.

"If you're looking for the perfect companion, Shadow is your man. He loves walks, but also is fine hanging around the house. He has gotten over most of his shy/timid side, but on occasion, he will let you know if something makes him uncomfortable. He is dog-social and house-trained and knows how to use a dog door. Crate trained."

Shadow has been in foster since January, and he's ready for the next big step: a forever home! Email [email protected] to set up a meet and greet.

Shelter life isn't easy. It's stressful, emotionally tasking, and difficult for everyone involved. It takes a village to provide food, water and enrichment for hundreds of homeless pets every day, and we need your help to keep adoption numbers up so more dogs are out of the shelter and in forever homes.

We've read your comments about the negativity in the comment section, and we want to emphasize - we want to make this page about building a supportive community of animal lovers, not personal attacks. So, please stop do**in' us! We want people to continue to foster and adopt dogs from MCACC. There are hundreds of dogs right now who have been waiting for a home, some for over 100 days.

It was a bittersweet day when Cosmic was adopted for the first time. Imran and Cassie had fallen in love after taking him out for a Tails Around Town field trip, and by the time they decided they wanted to adopt, someone else had signed the paperwork. They met other dogs at the shelter, but nothing felt right.

Last week, the couple discovered that Cosmic was returned due to cats in the home. However, due to their schedules as firefighters, they would not be able to get him for several more days. Our Event Coordinator, Nicole, kept in touch with them every day about Cosmic's availability and let them know he would be at an adoption event in Mesa that weekend.

As soon as they were both off, they came to PetSmart and picked up their new family member! He recognized them immediately, and the photos say it all. Happy Gotcha Day, Cosmic!

Longtimer Reba needs a home! 💙 This sweet lady got a break from the shelter in foster, but she'll be headed back this weekend. We need your help to make sure she stays out of the shelter for good! Here's how it's going for this pawfect princess:

"Reba is fully crate trained...Big dogs and dogs her size or lower energy would actually complement her best. She has high focus on exciting and fun activities and things. She likes to explore things with her mouth! She thinks that it is fun to eat grass and proceed to do zoomies after around the backyard. The more crate time she gets the calmer she is."

Reba has been at the shelter since September and would thrive in a home that can provide plenty of decompression time. If you are interested in changing a longtimer's life, visit the East shelter this weekend or email [email protected] to set up a meet and greet today.

✨ Senior Sunday Spotlight ✨

Miss Gravie can't seem to catch a break. 😔This sweet 7-year-old lady has been in and out of the shelter since 2022, and we're hoping the fourth time is the charm! She has it all - she's smart, playful, house trained and has not shown destructive behavior in her past homes. However, we believe she would thrive in a home where she can be your one and only pet!

Here's how her last field trip went: "Gravie was the BEST friend to have! She was polite on the leash, in the car, and was so fun to play with! She was very particular about treats and was only interested in her pup cup. Gravie wore herself out playing and snuggled up close to take a long nap. She loves new people as well!"

Meet Baloo! This Dogo Argentino decided to break out of the house earlier this month, but he had some trouble getting back home and ended up at the shelter. Luckily, his owner had reported him lost through Petco Love Lost, and when we scanned his intake photo, a match came up in their database! Within 30 minutes, his mom arrived at the shelter, and the video of their reunion says ita all. If you ever lose or find a stray pet, we have the resources to help.
