ECHO UPDATE!!

We picked up our sweet boy on Monday afternoon and he was eager to get home and see his herd mates. He immediately did a great bill roll, took a long drink of water, found some hay, and things were back to normal.

It'll be a few days while we slowly reintroduce feed and hay to him but we were able to put him out with his herd immediately as the round bale in their pasture had been eaten down. They can all still nibble on a few things they can find and we're carefully giving some nice quality hay and monitoring closely.

We are humbled and beyond grateful for those who've already donated, whether directly through the vet or through our donate button!

We received the final bill and we've got a little ways to go to cover his final hospitalization costs, but we know our amazing supporters will come through and help alleviate this extra financial burden. Even $5 makes a difference!

***THIS JUST IN*** Echo passed the impaction and should be coming home tomorrow!!

ECHO UPDATE!

Our sweet boy started slowly passing the impaction yesterday so the fluids really seemed to help.

Visited him again today and he was MUCH more alert and engaged. We got the okay to bring him some 's Water which he slurped (and splashed) up excitedly. He's also had some Senior feed today which he's tolerated well, finally! We even got the okay to do a little hand walking to give him a change of scenery and get moving a little. He enjoyed checking on the mares and foals from a distance and thoroughly checked the pond off in the next field.

We're so thankful to everyone's GENEROSITY in helping us with this added enormous expense ( ) and appreciate any amount you've given!

Our dearest Echo colicked on Tuesday night and has been trying his hardest to pass the impaction and get better. He (and we) need your help to help him get back feeling himself and to his riders who adore him.

He's under the best care with the team at Brazos Valley Equine Hospitals - Salado and we're so thankful for all of their diligent, round-the-clock care 💙💜

His current bill is about $2,500 and he's staying at least another day with fluids and treatments. If you can give even $20, it would mean the world to us and our very small budget. If you can't donate, please SHARE!

IF you'd like to pay towards his bill directly with the vet, which helps us tremendously, please call during normal business hours 254-947-1295 and say that you're paying for "Echo with H.E.L.P. "

Towel Pickup & Shipping Info:
Your cooling towels will be available for pickup at H.E.L.P. during business hours on or after August 5th. Tues-Sat 9a-6p (text 512-413-4371 to arrange pickup).

Our very own Executive Director, Stephanie, will be presenting at the PATH Int'l Region 8 Conference in Arkansas at the beginning of August. She'll be sharing ways to stretch the already-thin dollars most centers operate with but still provide the exceptional care for our horses and programs!
