The votes are in! although the competition was very, VERY close, Mezcal (our bat kitty) won the costume contest! Here is what mom has to say about her sweet girl:

Mezcal is a sweet, snuggly little angel. She loves to explore her new house, she has never lived in a home before so this is all new for her. She was born on the streets, and was found alone in a street rain gutter so it's safe to say she is loving house cat life. Her favorite hobbies include: supervising us as we load/unload the dishwasher, stalking us as we move around the house, doing parkour off every piece of furniture we own, terrorizing my monstera, and just generally being involved in tasks that do not require cat involvement. When she is not terrorizing my plant, she likes to spend time in her window seat, or napping on the couch. She loves to be held like the little baby she is, but she is often far too busy playing to sit down and relax with us. She loves to play with all her toys, her favorite is a lip-liner I have not even unboxed yet. We love her so much.

White Rock Vets pet of the month for October is.... The Dude DeHart! the dude (and siblings) have been patients with us since 2020. Mrs. DeHart submitted the first photo for his profile but we had to include a photo that Dr. Parsons took as well! He is a fan favorite here at White Rock for sure. Here is what the dudes mom has to say about why he deserves to be pet of the month:

"The Dude was diagnosed with Bartonella in March 2025. He was lethargic, moody and had no interest in doing anything but sleeping. After months of pills, blood draws and visits to the clinic he excitedly showed up and continued to improve until he was 💯 better.
The reason he should be the dog of the month is due to his continued enthusiasm to get better. He didn’t view the clinic visits, blood draws, endless pills and other testing as punishment. He loved seeing the staff because he was getting better and getting all the attention his sister, Piggy, wasn’t.
He loves coming to see all his friends at the clinic and when we pass by without turning in, he is visibly upset we are not visiting his friends that helped him get better.
His joy for life is back and is back to being a regular dog. From touch and go to hanging out anywhere dogs are welcomed was the best outcome. Thank you to Dr. Parsons and the awesome staff! 🖤💛🖤💛"
