About a year ago, Dr. Jess had to say goodbye to her very best girl. As Sydney’s disease progressed, she began to lose her appetite, experience weight loss, GI upset, and urinary changes. Despite every effort, her quality of life declined, and the kindest, most loving decision was made to let her go peacefully over the rainbow bridge.

We share Sydney’s story to highlight the importance of routine monitoring and recognizing trends in your pet’s health over time. Every journey with chronic illness looks different, and each family’s decisions are deeply personal.

Sydney gave us so much—love, loyalty, and countless lessons in resilience and compassion. She is deeply missed and forever cherished. 💙🐾

𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝟐: 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 & 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞
Sydney lived a full and resilient life. After a traumatic accident led to radial nerve damage, she underwent a forelimb amputation. Despite that challenge, she recovered beautifully—so much so that many people didn’t even realize she was missing a limb. As she entered her senior years, routine annual bloodwork began to show subtle changes in her kidney values. Over time, these trends, along with urinalysis, led to a diagnosis of renal failure. With dedicated care—including diet, medications, and supplements—Sydney continued to do well and live with much love for her human kiddos. Stay tuned for more about Sydney!

Dr. Jess is honored to have been chosen to provide 𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐯𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬! (from central and southern Illinois to northern Arkansas and Tennessee)!

While 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐭 𝐁𝐂𝐕𝐒 she will be able to meet and support even more amazing veterinarians and their teams.

Recently Dr. Jess had the opportunity to:

🐾collaborate with other veterinarians in the newest diagnostic tests provided by Idexx!

Her goal is to provide pet parents with more information to empower them to choose the right options that align with their goals for their pet’s care! 🏆
