I am very behind in social media posts, but Dr. Jess over at Ball-Chatham Veterinary Services, LLC is much more social media savvy! She shared these photos after our trip in February to Chi University in Florida as part of our journey to provide acupuncture services to the pets of Sangamon County. Getting to work hands-on and side-by-side with a fellow local veterinarian and friend was such a fun way to learn. It can be confusing when you are both veterinarians from Chatham named Jessica 😄 but we learned so much and continue to do so as we work through our acupuncture coursework from home (thanks to technology) and it is so nice to have a colleague to discuss this new form a medicine with!
For those of you who may not be aware, Dr. Jess over at Ball-Chatham is now offering some Convenient Care appointments (house-call services) for things that Peaceful Tails cannot offer, such as vaccines and wellness care. If you have a pet who is in need of wellness home services give her office a call to find out more (they are at (217) 498-0363.

I am proud to be a member of the Chatham community. One year ago, an unthinkable tragedy took the lives of five of Chatham's children and changed the lives of many more. The families of those children are often on my mind and my heart aches for their loss. My heart aches for the loss of innocence of the children of our community who were faced with this unexpected tragedy. My youngest child lost two of his friends and classmates that day and he still speaks of them and thinks of them often. They are not forgotten, they will be loved forever. Through all the grief and despair, hope and kindness emerged and brought us all together, and for that I am forever grateful for the people of Chatham and the surrounding towns who supported us, for our amazing schools that helped our students through that time, and for the first responders who helped those children that day. We will never forget Rylee, Ainsley, Alma, Kit and Bradley 💚💙🩷💜🖤

I am blessed to be a part of a small community of End-of-Life veterinarians across the world. One of my friends who practices in Alabama and is also very crafty has started creating memorial items using resin and cremains (ashes from cremation). She has an Etsy shop where you can see and purchase this items which can be found at: https://www.etsy.com/shop/PaintAndStitchStudio . She has created some beautiful keepsakes for pet owners.
