Take *Shugah*, for example — this petite shepherd mix was found tied up in one of our play yards recently. Despite it all, she greeted us with a wagging tail and a heart full of trust. We named her Shugah because… well, she’s just that sweet. 🥰

Looking for a hiking buddy? A Netflix nap partner? A reason to smile when you walk in the door? We've got you covered.

🎉🐾 **DOUBLE SENIOR DOG ADOPTION ALERT!!** 🐾🎉

Hold onto your leashes, folks—we’ve got some PAWSITIVELY incredible news to share! Today wasn’t just any day at the shelter... it was a **TWO-TIMES-THE-JOY, DOUBLE-THE-LOVE SENIOR DOG SEND-OFF!** 🥹❤️

Our sweet, soulful **Atticus the Chiweenie** and our lovable ol’ gentleman **Sly the Beagle**—our *two oldest* residents—**BOTH GOT ADOPTED TODAY!** 😭🙌

One family came in to meet Atticus, and another came for Sly—and by the end of the day, both of these heart-stealers were trotting off into the sunset with families of their very own. No more shelter nights for these golden oldies… just cozy beds, belly rubs, and all the love their wise little hearts can handle. 🐶🛏️💕

Watching them head out the door, tails wagging, was the kind of moment that makes every single hard day worth it. It’s not just a win—it’s a **two-for-one, senior dog adoption celebration of epic paw-portions**! 🎊🐕‍🦺🐕

To everyone who roots for the underdogs—the seniors, the shy ones, the long-timers—**this one’s for YOU**. Today, two very good boys got the happy endings they so deeply deserved. Our hearts are howling with happiness! 💖🐾

A message from a mother cat— scared, silent, and left behind 💔

I don’t know how long we were in there.

It was dark. Hot. Still. My babies cried, and I couldn’t do anything but press myself around them and hope they stayed quiet — and alive. We were sealed inside a plastic tote, zip tied shut with wood over the top. No light. Little air. No way out.

We were dumped. Left behind like we didn’t matter.

No one knew we were there.

But someone found us.

**To the person who left us — they found the box you left behind. They found *us*. And we are safe now.**

My kittens — all six of them — are okay. They were dehydrated and scared, but they made it. We got lucky. It was early morning. The day hadn’t turned dangerously hot yet. Someone happened to check the old shelter building which is where we were left… even though no one works there anymore.

You probably didn’t think anyone would.
You probably didn’t know if we’d make it.
Or maybe, you didn’t want to know.

But I need you to know this: **we were alive in there. We were afraid. And we were waiting for someone to save us.**

It didn’t have to be that way.

You could’ve called. You could’ve walked through the doors of **Tri-Cities Animal Services** and asked for help. No lectures. No shame. Just a chance — for me and my babies.

Instead, we were left in silence, sealed in a box, just hoping that our last breath wouldn’t come before someone opened the lid.

Please — don’t do this to another animal.
We aren’t trash. We are living, feeling beings. We are *someone*.

And in **Washington State**, what happened to us? That’s not just wrong — **it’s illegal**. Abandonment is a crime. Because we suffer. Because too many don’t get found in time.

This time, we were.
Next time, they might not be.

—A mama who was dumped, but not forgotten. And whose babies are still here because someone *cared* 💔🐾

We are pleading with you — please stop abandoning animals outside our doors. We are overwhelmed and over capacity. Every animal dumped like this is one more life at risk and one more kennel being filled that wont be available for another animal in need. If you find an animal in need and can’t care for them, please reach out to us. We want to help.

🎉 No Crown, No Problem — Jack Jack Found His Kingdom! 🐾👑

We were *just about* to make it official — Jack Jack, our toy-tugging champ, was next in line for the “Longest Resident” title... but he had other plans. 😎💥

After **342 days** of waiting (since 7/26/24), *our boy Jack Jack has been ADOPTED!* 🐶💛

That’s right — the sweet stray who tugged our heartstrings (and every toy he could get his paws on) is finally on his way to the life he always deserved. Cozy couches, full treat jars, and a forever home of his very own. 🛋️🐾

Jack Jack came in with nothing but a wag and a sparkle in his eye, and he never lost hope. And even though he never got the “Longest Resident” post, he just got something *so much better*: *a home*. ❤️

This week has been one big tail-wagging celebration with adoption after adoption — and we are LOVING it. Let’s keep this streak going strong!

🐾Who wore the longest resident crown for less than 24 hours?🐾

Hold onto your leashes, folks — the adoption magic is STILL going strong! ✨

Just *yesterday*, our boy Joseph trotted off into the sunset after 562 days, and the “Longest Resident” crown was passed to the lovely *Miss Luna*, our beautiful Belgian Malinois mix. 👑🐕

But guess what? She wore that crown for *less than 24 hours* — because after **553 days** of waiting like the queen she is, *Luna has been adopted!!!* 🎉🐾

Her new fur-ever family? A kindhearted *dog dad* who saw her, connected instantly, and knew she was meant to be his adventure buddy. It’s just the two of them now — a perfect pair, ready to start their next chapter full of long walks, squeaky toys, and *so much love*. 🐶❤️👨‍🦰

We are absolutely *pawsitively over the moon* (pun intended 🌙) for our Luna girl. Her patience, grace, and tail-wagging optimism finally paid off — and our hearts are bursting.

We’re loving this *fur-tastic* adoption streak… who’s next?! Let’s keep the love rolling! 💛

**🐾✨STOP THE PRESS – JOSEPH GOT ADOPTED!!!✨🐾**

After *586 pawsitively long tail-wagging days* in our care, our beloved Joseph – the goodest of boys – and our longest resident has *finally found his furever home*!!! 🐶❤️

This afternoon, the *pawfect family* walked through our doors, and fate barked… uh, *sparked*😉 It was love at first sniff. Joseph turned on the charm (as always) and had them *completely smitten* within minutes. One of the daughters even had tears in her eyes as she whispered, “I’m trying so hard not to cry happy tears.” 💕

We’ve watched Joseph wait patiently, day after day, always hopeful, always sweet. Today, that hope paid off in the most *pawsome* way 🐾

This boy has chased his last tail here at the shelter — he’s off to chase dreams, belly rubs, and endless couch snuggles with his *fur-ever* family 🐾✨

Joseph, you’ll always be part of our pack 💛
