Concerned About Animal Cruelty or Neglect? Here's How You Can Help.
At Tri-Cities Animal Services (TCAS), the safety and well-being of animals in our community is a top priority.
Occasionally, we hear about potential animal cruelty or neglect through social media posts, comments, or secondhand information. While we take these concerns seriously, these posts don't always provide the information needed for our Animal Control Officers to investigate.
That's why reporting directly to Animal Control is so important.
If you witness or suspect animal cruelty or neglect in Pasco, Kennewick, or Richland, here's what you can do:
-Make an official report. Don't assume someone else has already called. Even if a situation is being widely discussed online, that doesn't necessarily mean it's been reported to Animal Control.
-Provide as much detail as possible. Include the location, what you witnessed, when it happened, and any photos or videos you may have. Specific information helps our officers determine where to respond and what to investigate.
-Document safely. Never put yourself in danger or enter private property to gather evidence.

We appreciate everyone who speaks up for animals in our community. Our Animal Control Officers are committed to looking into reports of potential cruelty and neglect, but we need specific, actionable information to do so.
If you see something concerning, please don't stop at sharing it online. Report it directly so we have the opportunity to help.
