Hammy’s owner is seeing real progress—and her consistency and hard work are a big reason why. Every successful experience helps Hammy build new patterns in the brain, making calmer responses easier over time.

Documenting Bruno’s progress. He barks, snaps, and lunges to keep unfamiliar people and dogs. In his case, progress starts with building connection through the leash. I’ll share more about his background in a separate video.

This is where it officially began—11 years ago.

I began my professional dog-training career at the Dog Psychology Center—Cesar’s Way Ranch in Santa Clarita—where I led group classes and assisted experienced trainers in more challenging classes, including those focused on dog aggression.

I volunteered wherever I was needed and took on plenty of unglamorous grunt work. Every job gave me more time with the dogs, more opportunities to observe, and the hands-on practice I needed.

Working alongside Cesar and other skilled trainers and wonderful dog owners gave me invaluable exposure to knowledge and experience I was still developing. During those early years, I continued to seek mentorship from talented trainers who challenged me, sharpened my skills, and helped shape the trainer I am today.

Eleven years later, with God’s guidance, I’ve developed my own methods, built a successful training business, rehabilitated difficult dogs, and helped countless families better understand their dogs.

I’m grateful for how far I’ve come, but I never consider myself finished. I still study, critique my own work, and strive to improve my practice every day. The moment a trainer believes there is nothing left to learn is the moment growth stops.

Bernard’s proofing at the park in LA. Obedience is the easy part, I always say. Bernard’s progress has been fantastic! With an 80/20 focus on social exposure and obedience, he’s becoming more confident, responsive, and well-rounded every day.

Luma was recently adopted after living with a homeless man, and she does not want to be confined in a crate or left alone. Watch as I show you how I slowly acclimate her to the crate.

The short version will be posted here Friday, and the full video will be on YouTube
