*Urgent Christmas Wishlist Update*

Life has thrown some serious challenges within our volunteers personal lives, and as a result, our Christmas wishlist is late this year. Perhaps it was meant to be, because today brought more difficulties. We usually do fun things , but this year we are in a crisis. We learned that our dog food supplier is out of stock, leaving us nearly out of food for our pups. Now, we're scrambling to find an alternative, and the timing couldn't be worse.

On top of this, we've taken in several severe medical cases, and the vet bills are piling up. We're doing everything we can to care for these animals, but we need your help. If you can contribute dog foodโ€”any kind is appreciatedโ€”it would mean the world to us and the dogs in our care.

Our shipping address is:

Thank you for your kindness and support during this challenging time. ๐Ÿ’•

Other ways in first comment . We will gladly pick up at a local store also. ๐ŸŽ„

Great Babies Rescue realizes this is a terrible time of year to be asking for donations, but when you take one look at Daphne, you'll know why we had to help her.

This Great Dane was sold by a breeder. The buyer took the dog, who developed cherry eye. During this first surgery on Daphne's eyes, the vet said that the dog also had hip dysplasia and spinal abnormalities. The buyer then decided to return the dog to the breeder. These pictures clearly show why the breeder was unable to resell Daphne. GBR accepted the dog under the conditions of anominity for the breeder and first vet.

Since surrender, Daphne received quotes from three different vets. What started out as cherry eye has only progressed and gotten worse., and now endotropy is also an issue in both eyes. We don't know who, but someone operated on Daphne. The pictures clearly show how her eyes looked like after the first surgery!

The original reason Great Babies Rescue was contacted, is because she's a Great Dane with special needs. Terry agreed to take this dog in after being told that she had spinal abnormalities and potential hip dysplasia. Terry was told that the cherry eye had been corrected by surgery.

You can imagine how horrified our volunteer was when he showed up to pick up a Great Dane, which was only expected to have internal issues. You only have to look at these pictures to know Daphne still has eye problems. We even questioned if surgery was ever done? Unfortunately, the answer to that question is yes. The surgery was done and it was done extremely poorly. The surgeon used non-dissolvable stitches inside the eye, which were never removed. These stitches have continued to irritate and scratch Daphne's corneas. This may very well lead to vision loss.

After taking in Daphne, a new plan was required. One vet quoted $4,700 to fix her eyes, and the other vet quoted $5,300. Terry Havens Holzheimer has a great relationship with an out of state vet, who agreed to do the surgery for $1,500

Even though it's the holiday season, and money is tight for many, there was just no way we could let Daphne continue suffer. We didn't have the funds to cover her surgery, and the vet is awaiting payment. Can we please ask for a small donation from each of our followers? Just $10 would be so much help.

_sigh_ The drama continues... ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’”

We're not sure where to start, but we have to share the bittersweet news about Drama, our Anatolian Shepherd girl. She's been through so much, and we're just trying to help her catch a break. Drama came to us with Victor, and we've been taking it slow, letting her heal and feel safe. She's got a patient adopter waiting, but this sweet girl has been carrying a heavy heart.

Drama's been on her own for God knows how long , fending for herself, and it's taken a toll. She's not cuddly, but she's not mean either - just scared and protective. We're handling her with care, but it's hard not to feel her pain.

And then, the unexpected happened. Drama's not just a survivor; she's a mom. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘ถ We didn't know she was pregnant, and it's breaking our hearts to know she had more to protect than Victor . The world's got enough abandoned dogs, and now Drama's got babies to care for. We're just trying to do what's right, one paw at a time.

If you'd like to send some love or supplies her way, we'd be grateful. As for Victor... well, we're still trying to figure out the whole "dad" situation. ๐Ÿ˜”

Let's just say Drama's got a long road ahead, but we've got her back. ๐Ÿ’•

*please refrain from hate. She did not get pregnant in our care, she was presumed spayed and never showed due to her fur. She surely wasnt suspected pregnant , even after spending a good period of time at the vets. She has been a handle with care situation from day 1. We assume Victor is the dad but with hundreds of abandoned dogs in the area, we are unsure until we can DNA them. Drama also will not go into a house at this time (at her own preference ). It is very touchy and she needs to feel secure. While she has never shown any aggression, a new mom is definitely a bite potential and that would be detrimental to how far she has come .

They are here and they will be loved ๐Ÿพ โค๏ธ

Our sweet Gina (previously known as Athena), has settled into her new life beautifully. She is one of the lucky California dogs that was saved from euthanasia. She now is a Michigan resident.

Gina is in training with her new mother, to be her service dog. Gina was confiscated by the police in a raid, and held as evidence in a shelter for many months.

When the case was over, the shelter gave her less than a week to find a new home. That's when Great Babies Rescue stepped in and agreed to bring her out of California, to prevent her from being euthanized.

We are so proud of Gina, and her adoptive family, who have given her a new purpose in life now. Best wishes to everyone ๐Ÿ˜

Hi There Hoomans.....My Name is Brody and I'm Just About THE PAWFECT Package......I know My Ears and Tail are Natural but that's the way I'm Supposed to Be.......Anyway, I've had it Pretty Hard until Great Babies Rescue Saved Me, Now I'm Doing Really Good and Because of that, I'm AVAILABLE TO ADOPT โ˜บ๏ธ.......My Wish......To Spend My Holidays with A LOVING FOREVER FAMILY OF MY OWN...Do YOU BELIEVE.......Will YOU be THE ONE to Make MY Wish Come True ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’šโค๏ธ๐Ÿ™

Brody's eyes are a deep, soulful brown, filled with a longing that's hard to ignore. This young Doberman pup has been through so much, rescued by the amazing team at Great Babies Rescue after a rough start in life. When he was first saved, Brody was a very skinny boy, but with time and care, he has learned to trust again. Now, in a foster home, Brody's tail wags constantly as he sniffs around the cozy space.

But as Christmas approaches, Brody's heart aches with a different kind of longing. He watches the potential adopters visit, and his ears perk up with hope. Could this be his chance? Sadly, so far, it has not been. Having a tail makes him the most overlooked boy there. ๐Ÿ˜ญ We remind him that God made him perfect and didn't want to change a thing.

Could he finally find a family to call his own? It is his only wish, and he is hoping for a Christmas miracle. Brody's past is a blur of uncertainty, but one thing's clear: he wants to be loved, to be cherished, to be home for Christmas. He's waiting patiently, his big brown eyes pleading, "Is it my turn yet?" ๐Ÿพโค๏ธ

Dexter's story is one of heartbreak and resilience. Rescued just minutes from euthanasia in California, this sweet boy's past is marked by unimaginable cruelty. Serious burns, left untreated, have left scars on his body, but not on his spirit.

As Halloween approached, Dexter's excitement grew. He thought maybe he could pass off his scars as a spooky costume, and someone would see past his rough exterior to the loving companion he is. But that special day never came.

Now, with Christmas around the corner, Dexter's hopes are pinned on a new story. He likes to pretend that he jumped off the toy line at the North Pole, and that's why his fur is a bit patchy and scarred. In his mind, he's still a work in progress, waiting for the finishing touches that will make him perfect for his forever home.

Despite months passing, Dexter remains hopeful, his tail wagging gently as he watches families come and go. Will someone see past his scars and give him a forever home? ๐Ÿพโค๏ธ
