Harmony update (the Doberman dumped in the desert in July):

Harmony has been evaluated and the (gunshot?) wound is infected but does not appear to need surgery…. Just antibiotics. Whatever donations we received yesterday will go towards the organization that generously stepped up to help pay for it. We cannot thank them enough. They were our miracle and thank you to a wonderful friend who made that happen. Another example of why rescues working together make all the difference.

With that being said, the million dollar question answered…. She is pregnant and pretty far along . We have no idea what breed but are told the very well could be Victor’s. I have no opinion either way… could be anything . It was discussed what the best alternative was and it was decided within the Great Babies members that she would only have the abortion if she required surgery and it further harbored her healing . An abortion is not something that we wanted to do but would have if it were medically necessary…. It was not . A spay right now also poses another possible infection to be introduced. She is ordered antibiotics and a puppy food diet .

Since she does not require extensive treatment and she is far along and also , her foster is agreeable to handling the pups, her pups will survive , unless God takes them . The woman who kept her safe yesterday is a vet tech and also moments from her long term foster. So all the cards are there and just need to play out. We don’t need pups but such is life and it hands us alot that we dont need but deal with .

She is pretty big and now we expect she surrendered because she is looking for safety to deliver. We are scrambling for birthing and puppy supplies . A generous friend has already sent a whelping box and most of the supplies before i even had this typed 😆 ♥️

What do we need ?

We are looking for p*e pads , milk replacement , bowls, toys and treats. And puppy food for mom … pending brand ! Of coarse monetary for care .

Any items can be sent to the fosters address upon request.

Yes , I know how many pups but we are going to make a game of it 😆.

We urgently need funds to get her to the vet . This is not what we expected at all 😞

🚨 For the last couple of weeks, we have know about a breeder /hoarder situation involving a large amount dogs that need placement. We know that there are min pins, Dobermans and shepherds coming out of this situation. We also know that we will be taking at least 12 of the dogs.

We are overwhelmed with the amount of support that we just received in asking for A crate for Ariel! Honestly, with tears , I can say that perhaps you may not know what it means to us. This evening, we were faced with priorities we needed to discuss . A severe shortage of dog food and Ariel being at risk, and topping it off with an emergency surgery on one of our dogs tomorrow. That was the turning point that a medical bill caused by Ariel's anxiety would be the straw that would break the camels back for us . Nearly no rescues have a surplus of funds laying around to deal with multiple crisisis that happen at once . It's the sad truth.

Sometimes , we try not to question the "what else can happen right now ?" ....seems that brings in more chaos . But the past few days have been just that.

Not only have our friends and followers donated this evening, but two other rescues. We know your own rescues are struggling . The discount on the crate was another rescue assisting. Personally , That is what I live by in rescue .

You probably see my name in a few groups because I believe that you help your fellow rescuers and work as a family to accomplish greater things from all over...all breeds . The best rescues build each other up and keep one another strong . In the end, it is about saving dogs, not outlasting the others or competition. Together we can do wonderful things and I hope we can repay the favor someday. I know I have received support from Great Babies in other rescues I volunteer for ....and that was what made me join them quite a while ago in the background. They support the same morals and cause .... It's always the dogs, first and foremost. It's always about saving lives .

I met Terry in person the first time when we both drove a long distance to move two emergent dogs that would have died. Neither of us slept . She was everything I expected her to be and then some. Even tho she nearly broke her ankle, she got up and left that doberman drag her across the hotel parking lot at midnight.

URGENT SAFETY PLEA! PLEASE HELP ONE OF OUR SPECIAL NEEDS BABIES, ARIEL 🐾 😭

We found a crate at a discount for 450.00… half off.

Ariel has been with us some time and it truly doesn’t look like she will find her home anytime soon. She suffers from anxiety and potential PTSD from a life of hell before us .

We have been through about every crate that has been donated to us and purchased by us. There is no crate that is safe for Ariel that we can afford and there is no normal crate that she can’t destroy .

When left alone, she is very destructive. She has taken out three couches , two tv’s, there are no curtains left . Nothing we have can stop her and it is a huge barrier for time and chores to make sure she is attended to when she cannot be alone. This makes it so hard on us and her. Our biggest fear is that she will seriously hurt herself or end up with an obstruction . She has been in a crate that was lent for a short period that was non destructibleand did well so crating her is not dangerous .

Please help!

Direct donations preferred but donate now button is available. It will take a while to have that payout . But we are desperate and anything helps. This is the last thing we need on top of a dog food crisis but we have exhausted all options.
