😳🐾 Well… this is awkward. We need to talk about the hu***ng. 😂
You know the moment. Company comes over. Everyone is having a lovely time…and suddenly your dog decides someone’s leg, another pet, or their favorite stuffed animal needs a little extra attention. 🤦♀️
While hu***ng can definitely be influenced by hormones—and may be one more reason it’s time to talk about neutering—that’s not always the whole story!
Pets may hump because of:
🐾 Excitement or overstimulation
🐾 Stress or anxiety
🐾 Play behavior
🐾 Attention-seeking
🐾 A learned habit
🐾 Hormones, especially in intact pets
🐾 Occasionally, an underlying medical issue
Neutering can help reduce hormone-driven mounting behaviors, but if your pet is already neutered and is still hu***ng, it may be worth a conversation with your veterinarian.
No judgment here. We’ve seen it ALL. 🙃
