At the amazing age of 18, Cooper is having difficulty walking on land, so his mom decided his mom decided to see how hydrotherapy could help. And what an incredible first session! With my assistance and the support of flotation devices, Cooper was able to take some steps in the underwater treadmill. He had back surgery five years ago, but this little guy continues to show just how much determination he has!

Hydrotherapy can be wonderful for geriatric dogs. Even simply spending time in the soothing 90-degree water can feel good on aging joints and muscles, while the warmth helps encourage circulation and relaxation. The buoyancy of the water also provides support that can make movement easier.

If your senior dog is having a hard time getting around due to aging, give me a call. Hydrotherapy may be a gentle way to help keep them moving and feeling their best. 💦

This interview may be a little older, but it’s still one of the best overviews of the work I do to help dogs feel and move their best. While a few details have changed over the years, the information is still just as relevant.

Age is just a number when you’ve got the right support! 🐶💦

Thirteen-year-old Marley recently came in for his very first hydrotherapy session, and he did a wonderful job. As the years go by, it’s normal for our dogs to slow down a bit, but Marley’s family is taking a proactive approach to help him stay mobile, comfortable, and enjoying all the things he loves.

Hydrotherapy offers many benefits for senior dogs, including:
🐾 Supporting aging joints
🐾 Improving strength and muscle tone
🐾 Increasing flexibility and range of motion
🐾 Providing safe, low-impact exercise
🐾 Helping maintain mobility and quality of life

We love seeing families invest in their dogs’ health, and we’re excited to help Marley stay active through his golden years.

Curious if hydrotherapy could benefit your dog? Give us a call—we’re happy to answer your questions and help you decide if it’s the right fit for your best friend! 💙🐕

This month’s Joey English Show is especially close to my heart.

In this interview, I share the incredible story of Courage, my newest family member.

Two years ago, Courage came to me after hip surgery with significant muscle loss. Through regular hydrotherapy, I watched him slowly rebuild his strength, regain healthy muscle tone, and grow more confident with every session. During that time, I completely fell in love with him and hoped one day he would become part of my family. At the time, it wasn’t possible—but sometimes the best stories take time. Today, I’m thrilled to say Courage is finally home with me.

His rescue journey is just as inspiring, and I share all the details in this month’s interview.

A heartfelt thank you to Desert Paws Sanctuary for rescuing Courage and giving him the chance he deserved, and to Melody at Animal Action League for reporting him and helping set his rescue in motion. Because of compassionate people like them, Courage has the happy ending every dog deserves.

I hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch and hear Courage’s amazing journey from rescue to recovery to his forever home.

Q: Who’s the captain of cuteness? 🫡🐾

A: Taichou! 💛

Did you know Taichou means “Captain”? And honestly... it fits. This sweet senior girl may have a little gray on her muzzle, but she still leads the way with her gentle spirit and adorable personality.

When Captain Taichou comes to stay at Barkingham, she makes the most of her vacation by getting her hydrotherapy and massage therapy sessions while she’s boarding. It’s the perfect way to stay comfortable, active, and feeling her best!

💦 Hydrotherapy can help:
• Support aging joints
• Build strength with low-impact exercise
• Improve mobility and endurance

💆 Massage therapy can help:
• Ease muscle tension
• Increase circulation
• Promote relaxation and comfort

We love helping our senior pups stay happy, healthy, and ready to captain their next adventure. 🐶⚓❤️

Way to lead the crew, Captain Taichou!
