It’s World Pet Memorial Day.
— a tender reminder to pause and remember the animals who gave us their whole hearts and asked for so little in return.
🐶
They greeted us like rockstars every time we came home.
🐶
They curled up beside us when the world felt too heavy.
🐶
They had quirks that made us laugh, and now those same memories bring a lump to our throats.
🐶
If you’ve ever had to say goodbye to a beloved pet, you know that kind of grief. It’s the leash still by the door. The quiet spot on the couch. The part of your routine that still lingers, even though they’re no longer there.
🐶
But love like that doesn’t disappear. It just changes shape — and lives on in the stories, the smiles, and the quiet moments when we still feel them near.
🪷 Pictured here is my puppy Trigger who we lost last year to several conditions related to backyard breeding.🪷 and as a therapist working with senior dogs, I frequently lose these friends as well. Most recently the sweet Penny Sue, and the lovely Hazel May both went to the bridge.🌈❤️🩹 I miss them dearly, peace to their friends and family.
