At the amazing age of 18, Cooper is having difficulty walking on land, so his mom decided his mom decided to see how hydrotherapy could help. And what an incredible first session! With my assistance and the support of flotation devices, Cooper was able to take some steps in the underwater treadmill. He had back surgery five years ago, but this little guy continues to show just how much determination he has!
Hydrotherapy can be wonderful for geriatric dogs. Even simply spending time in the soothing 90-degree water can feel good on aging joints and muscles, while the warmth helps encourage circulation and relaxation. The buoyancy of the water also provides support that can make movement easier.
If your senior dog is having a hard time getting around due to aging, give me a call. Hydrotherapy may be a gentle way to help keep them moving and feeling their best. 💦
