The Paw Wash will be CLOSED on Memorial Day as we take time to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. ❤️🤍💙

These sweet doodles came in for some much-needed TLC… and left feeling like brand new pups 🐶💛

We know it can be shocking to see a big transformation like this, but when coats become severely matted, shaving down is often the kindest and safest option.

Here’s why:
✂️ Mats pull tightly on the skin, causing pain and discomfort
🦠 They trap moisture, dirt, and bacteria leading to skin irritation or infections
🐾 Mats can hide sores, hot spots, or even parasites
🚫 Brushing them out isn’t humane at this stage it would be extremely painful

When pups are this matted, the grooming process is also much more involved:
💦 They require a pre-shave BEFORE the bath just to safely remove the bulk of the matting
🛁 Then they get a full bath & dry
✂️ Followed by a second groom to clean everything up

That means your pup is essentially getting TWO grooms in one visit which takes extra time, care, and patience from our team 💕

Our goal is always to keep your dogs comfortable, happy, and healthy. Regular brushing at home + routine grooming appointments can help avoid situations like this 🙌
