🐹 **GUINEA PIG MATH… RESCUE EDITION** 🐹

Five weeks ago, one of our foster families took in **2 female guinea pigs**.

Two.
Female.
Guinea pigs.

Since guinea pigs are pregnant for approximately **10 weeks**, we figured we had plenty of time to get everyone settled and make sure they were healthy.

What we DIDN’T realize was that one of those girls apparently arrived with **three tiny passengers already on board.** 😂

Fast forward to this morning…

**Foster mom wakes up to THREE BABIES.** 😳🐹🐹🐹

Because apparently rescue math works like this:

2 guinea pigs + 5 weeks = **SURPRISE, HERE’S 3 MORE!** 🤦‍♀️😂

Mom and babies are doing great, and we’ll be watching these little nuggets grow over the next few weeks. Once they’re old enough and ready, they’ll be looking for their forever homes. ❤️

**Lesson learned:** When you take in female guinea pigs, apparently you also take your chances with a surprise litter. 😂

Scallywags Animal Rescue is looking for donations to help keep our foster kittens’ bellies full! ❤️

Our biggest needs right now are:

🥫 **Canned kitten food**
🐱 **Kitten kibble**

With so many kittens in foster care, we go through food FAST! Every bag and every can helps us continue caring for these little ones while they wait for their forever homes. 🏡🐾

Sometimes rescue looks like a carefully planned operation…and sometimes it looks like piling a baby, dogs, carriers and whatever else fits into a shopping cart and just hoping everyone makes it to the next stop.🙈🤷🏻‍♀️
But here’s what people don’t always see: rescues are run by volunteers. Real people with jobs, responsibilities,families, bills, errands and their own lives..who still make time to squeeze in the vet appointment, transport, supply run, intake or emergency because an animal needs them.
We may not have everything.
But we’ll make what we have work Every Single Time. ❤️🐾

We’re bringing the purr-fect workout partners to The Yoga Cove in Oxford,PA!

Join us Saturday, September 12th from 12–1 PM for Kitten Yoga — where your downward dog may be interrupted by an actual cat. 😹

Adoption update!! Look at her NOW 🥹❤️

When she first came to us, Morgan (now Misty) was so severely matted that we had no choice but to shave her down. 💔
She had spent far too long just trying to survive and fend for herself. She was uncomfortable, scared, and had no idea that life could be anything different.
But little by little… she learned.
After some time adjusting to home life, this beautiful girl finally found the family she was waiting for. 🏡❤️

And THESE are the updates we live for. 😭

Look at her now. 🥹
Safe. Spoiled. Comfortable. Adored.
Living her absolute BEST life and no longer having to worry about where her next meal comes from, where she’ll sleep, or how she’ll survive another day.

We are SO incredibly grateful to her amazing adopters for giving her the life she always deserved.

A huge thank you to our friends at Maryland SPCA for inviting us to such an awesome event! We had an absolute blast meeting so many amazing people, adorable pups, and fellow animal lovers. 🐶🐾
Our furry recruits had the BEST time soaking up all the attention and we may have even met a few potential adopters who could become part of their happily-ever-after!
We wish we had taken more pictures… but honestly, we were having WAY too much fun! 😂
Events like this aren’t just about getting our animals seen. They’re about making connections, finding our people, and getting one step closer to forever homes. 🏡Thank you to everyone who stopped by.
