💔 a heartbreaking day in rescue — the kind of decision you never want to make.

Yesterday we received a call about a pup in severe respiratory distress. Even though we weren’t in a position to take on another dog, we knew we couldn’t turn her away without at least giving her a chance. She was rushed to the Emergency vet, where they tried placing her in an oxygen chamber, but when that wasn’t enough, she had to be intubated.

After hours of support, she was extubated so neurological tests could be run. It was then discovered she had suffered trauma to her back and lost the ability to move her legs. Despite assisted breathing and a continuous fentanyl drip, she was visibly uncomfortable and still couldn’t fully stabilize her breathing.

After carefully weighing her chances of full recovery and the quality of life she would face, the devastating decision was made to end her suffering and let her go peacefully.

Even though we weren’t able to save her, we are still covering her medical costs. Rescue work is never-ending, and so are the vet bills that come with it. If you would like to help us continue giving pets like Macy a fighting chance, please consider making a donation. Every bit truly makes a difference. ❤️

We wish every story had a happy ending, but the reality of rescue is that sometimes the most loving choice we can make is to give them peace. While we couldn’t save her life, we were able to make sure she left this world surrounded by compassion and care.

Run free, sweet Macy. You were loved. 🕊️❤️

✨ Double the Love, Double the Joy! ✨
We’re so excited to announce this purrfect duo adoption! 🐾 These two kittens may have arrived at our rescue separately as tiny little babies, but it didn’t take long for them to become inseparable best friends—running the foster home like they owned the place and filling it with endless personality.

Now, they get to start their next chapter together with an amazing family to call their own. ❤️ Wishing this sweet pair a lifetime of love, playtime, and cuddles!

🎉 Huge Congratulations to Julia Neidigh!!🎉

We are beyond excited to celebrate one of our amazing adopters, Julia Neidigh, for winning an Emmy with NBC Sports for her incredible work covering the 2024 Olympics! 🏅📺

If you see Julia out and about in Oxford today, be sure to give her a big “CONGRATULATIONS!” She (and her wonderful family) have been huge supporters of the animal rescue community here in Oxford, and we are so grateful for all they do. 💛🐾

We are truly honored to be part of their celebrations today! They have included a fundraiser for our rescue at their party and we are incredibly grateful for their generosity.
Thank you, Julia and family, for letting us share in your special day, and congratulations again on this amazing achievement!

🚨 Emergency Intake: Flea-Infested Kitten 🚨

This week has been overwhelming with surrender calls, and our waitlist just keeps growing… but when we got a call about this little one, there was no way we could say no — or wait.

This tiny baby, just 5–6 weeks old, was found completely alone in someone’s yard — severely anemic, barely moving, and absolutely covered in fleas. Even after two flea baths, the water still ran red with dry blood. You can see just how bad it was… 💔

He is heartbreakingly thin and fragile, but he’s a fighter. Despite everything, he’s showing us glimmers of strength — gaining a little energy each day as his tiny body begins to heal.

He has a long road ahead, and we’re doing everything we can to support his recovery.

We will keep updating on his recovery ❤️‍🩹 🐾
