Today some people were driving past Walmart and got close to a driveway where a fruit stand is during the summer months, when they saw a white car pull into the driveway l, open the door and a woman let a dog out. She was driving off and the dog was trying to get back in the car.
By the time the people drove up the road and turned around, this little girl had been hit by another car. They were in such disbelief at what they were seeing they didn't think to get the license plate number.
Someone told them to bring the dog to us so we could help her. Staff named her Treasure and right now, she's wobbly when she stands but is resting at the moment. She has a gash on the back of her head but the bleeding has stopped now.
We'll keep you updated tomorrow on her status.

Goofy, funny Navi is ready for adoption. Navi may be small but he's got a larger than life personality. He's almost 3 months old full of puppy energy and a need for play!
He's a Chihuahua mix and will be small when he's fully grown.

Figaro, the kitten we posted last week that was emaciated and sick, went to the vet the earlier this week. When Jenny was giving Figaro his medicine for his upper respiratory infection, she touched the side of his face and a large flap of skin fell off.
Figaro more than likely had had an abscess before coming to us and underneath his skin, his whole jaw and lower ear had had a major infection. We spared you the gruesome picture of what is under his bandage, but you can see everything that you shouldn't.
Our vet made an amazing way to hold the bandage in place and so far Figaro isn't bothering it.
It looks better at every bandage change and he's feeling better and gaining weight. We couldn't have a better patient!

Gully was adopted today by the Singer family. Gully will keep them on their toes with her puppy antics but we know they will enjoy her enthusiasm as she learns new things.

ALL OF THE PUPPIES IN THE PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION, EXCEPT GULLY.

The puppies born in a culvert under a dirt road have turned into the most cuddly, loving pups!

We hope they find homes soon. Mom is a sweet, sweet Lab mix and we don't know who dad is but the whatever the combination of breeds, they produced some fantastic pups!

Frank, Kelly and their son Patrick delivered a Christmas feast this afternoon for the dogs and cats! They made pumpkin, green beans and chicken for all of the animals.
This was the second year they've brought a meal over and it's such a hit for the animals getting to taste some home cooking instead of their normal kibble.

Thank you, Frank, Kelly and Patrick for your thoughtfulness and consideration of the animals we have this winter!
