In conclusion, this study shows that the risk of cranial cruciate ligament disease in dogs is linked to how long they are exposed to natural s*x hormones, and the relationship isn’t simple or linear. The highest risk was seen when females were spayed before about 1054 days (just under 3 years) and males before about 805 days (a little over 2 years). These results may help define what counts as “early” spay or neuter when it comes to cranial cruciate ligament disease risk.

Veterinary reproduction specialists now recommend hormone-preserving sterilization: preventing unwanted litters & less risk of torn cruciates.

Meet Karlie!! She is a Shepard mix that is believed to be 17 years old as she was rescued 15 years ago!!! Mom brought her in because she is struggling with mobility, trouble getting on her feet, limping and struggles with steps. Swimming is great exercise for her.

If you have or know a Senior Dog that is struggling with mobility Hit the share button, or tag their owner!! We love to help Senior dogs regain mobility at The Doggie Paddle!!

We've had a GREAT first week...got reaquainted with previous swimmers....and met new friends who are swimming for the first time.

Greetings Friends of Doggie Paddle and Curve Crest!!
Here is the announcement you have been waiting for (and so have we!!). The pool has been filled, the dock is built, and we are excited to see you and the dogs!! We are certainly not completely DONE…We will have different changes coming, but we are excited to announce we are OPEN!!!!
For now, we are planning on being open Tuesday through Sunday. Times will vary pending on the day, but the schedule will be available for booking 2 weeks out.
Your Gingr Portal is the best way to book your next paddle. This will allow you to reserve the time that works best for you and come see our new facility. Visit our website and click “Book a Paddle” then log in, or click the button below.
For those that are wanting to try the pool for the first time, please book the Orientation Swim as your first paddle appointment. As before we will continue the “Orientation Special” if you buy a package at the end of your swim the Orientation swim is free!!
For those of you who have been so very patient with us – we appreciate you!! And as a Thank You for your patience, those of you who have purchased packages and have swims left on your package, we will be offering you a “Welcome Back” free swim on or before May 30, 2025.
Package credits that have been previously purchased are still good for the paddles and paddles with a partner.
Please note, we were required to take down our road sign. We are located at our Curve Crest Kennels Location at 416 State Road 26, 3.5 miles from I41. Boarding dogs still check in at the white kennel building as always, but if you want a tour or to add a swim on to your dogs stay just let us know. Paddlers check in at the Green building, there is a potty area between the buildings. We are asking that all dogs are leashed on 6’ or less static leads (no retractable leashes).

Building update!! We have been getting many calls and inquiries about if the pool is open. Trust us when we say we miss it just as much as you and your pups do!! We are making progress on the new building!
