🐾 FOUND DOG — ROME, OH

Unneutered male dog found on Fee Road in Rome on Monday. He was checked for a microchip, but unfortunately no chip was found.

Fall means cooler weather and often MORE mushrooms 🍄‍🟫 popping up in yards.

Some mushrooms are harmless. Others can cause severe poisoning or even death.

🚨 If your pet eats an unknown mushroom, don’t wait for symptoms. Take a photo or bring a sample with you and contact your veterinarian.

🐾 When it comes to mystery mushrooms, leave the investigating to the experts!

Chocolate can be dangerous for dogs—and the darker the chocolate, the higher the risk.

⚠️ Signs of chocolate toxicity can include:
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Restlessness
• Tremors
• Fast heart rate
• Seizures

🚨 Don’t wait for symptoms. If your pet eats chocolate, contact your veterinarian or a pet poison service right away.

PYOMETRA: KNOW THE SIGNS 🚨

Pyometra is a life-threatening uterine infection that can occur in unspayed female dogs and cats, often following a heat cycle.

⚠️ Watch for:
• Increased thirst/urination
• Lethargy
• Loss of appetite
• Vomiting
• Swollen or painful abdomen
• Vaginal discharge

🚨 No discharge doesn’t mean no pyometra. With a closed pyometra, there may be no visible discharge at all.

Pyometra can quickly lead to sepsis, uterine rupture, and death.

❤️ The best prevention? Spaying.

If your unspayed female pet is suddenly acting sick, contact your veterinarian immediately.

🐾 When in doubt, don’t wait it out.
