We are affiliated with Pine Hollow Veterinary Services which manages Albion Animal Center, Animal Hospital of Meadville, and Western Reserve Animal Clinic. Our veterinary practice sees all small animal patients for a variety of preventative and medical conditions. Some of the services we provide are: Preventat

This is a myth. Water and shade help, but they are not a guarantee. Humidity, breed, age, weight, and underlying health conditions all affect how well a dog regulates heat. Some dogs can develop heatstroke even in a shaded yard on a humid day. Knowing your individual dog's limits matters more than checking two boxes. 🐾☀️

This is a myth and the type of mulch in your yard makes all the difference. Cocoa mulch, made from cocoa bean shells, contains theobromine and caffeine, the same compounds that make chocolate toxic to dogs. It smells appealing to them and can cause vomiting, tremors and seizures. Even other types of mulch carry risks of gastrointestinal obstruction or mold toxicity if ingested. Before your dog spends time in the yard, it is worth knowing what is on the ground. Ask us if you have any concerns. 🐾
