🐴 Help Us Find Our Next Therapeutic Riding Horse! 🐴

Freedom Ride is searching for a very special horse to join our therapeutic riding program.

Because we serve riders of all abilities—including many individuals with profound physical, cognitive, and developmental disabilities—we need a truly bombproof, dependable horse with a sound body and a kind, steady mind. Safety is our highest priority, and our horses are the heart of everything we do.

Ideal candidates will be:
- Between 10–20 years old
- Approximately 15.0–16.2 hands
- Barefoot and comfortable working without shoes
- Healthy and sound for therapeutic riding work
- Calm, patient, tolerant, and unflappable in a variety of situations

To ensure the best fit for both the horse and our riders, all horses will enter the program on a 90-day probationary period before being permanently accepted.

We are open to: 🐴 Donated horses or horses whose owners wish to retain ownership while placing them with Freedom Ride for use in our program for as long as they remain healthy, happy, and suitable for therapeutic riding.

🐴☀️ Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome a wonderful group of young equestrians participating in the Wendover Place Summer Camp to Freedom Ride!

The students enjoyed an engaging in-arena session with two of our amazing therapy horses, where they learned more about the unique role horses play in our programs and the impact they have on the individuals we serve. The group also toured our facilities and gained a behind-the-scenes look at our mission in action.

Thank you to the campers and leaders from Wendover Place Summer Camp for spending part of your summer with us. We loved sharing the Freedom Ride experience and hope to see you again soon!

We’re excited to welcome new and returning participants for our Fall Semester at Freedom Ride!

Our programs provide life-changing therapeutic horseback riding and ground-based wellness sessions for individuals with disabilities—helping build strength, confidence, and independence in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Who we serve:
• Children with disabilities ages 5 and up
• Adults with disabilities
• Veterans (ground-based services available)
