THE MOMENT WE’VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR...Felony Melanie Part III: The Finale.💙🐾

When we last saw our favorite downtown fugitive, we discovered that “Felony Melanie” was actually Kelly... and that she had an owner who had been searching for her for months.

The plot twist? None of this would’ve happened without a microchip.

That’s right. The tiny little chip that Kelly apparently forgot to mention while living her best anonymous street-dog life. Instead of remaining a mysterious canine with multiple aliases (Felony Melanie. Crystal Methany. Kelly. The list goes on...), she was reunited with the person who had loved her for 15 years.

FIFTEEN. YEARS. Cue the waterworks. There wasn’t a single dry eye on the front patio. Tough guys cried. Mascara ran. We all collectively needed a minute.

So here’s how the greatest redemption arc in downtown OKC history ends: Once a street dawg. Now home where she belongs.Felony Melanie, aka Crystal Methany, aka Kelly—you absolute icon. Thanks for taking us on the wildest rescue story we’ve had in a while.❤️

Moral of the story: Microchip your pet! Seriously. It reunites families, ends dramatic three-part sagas, and saves everyone a lot of emotional damage.

June is Adopt a Shelter Cat Month, and there's no better time to introduce you (again!) to Tuna Turner—who is officially available for adoption! 🎉

If you remember Tuna's story, you know just how far she's come. When Tuna entered our program, she was suffering from a severe Achilles tendon injury that couldn't be repaired. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters through Rita's Angel Fund, she received the surgery she desperately needed. Today, she's healed, thriving, and proving every single day that three legs are more than enough to live a happy, adventurous life.

Now all that's missing is a family to call her own! ❤️

Tuna is incredibly friendly, loves people, and doesn't let having three legs slow her down one bit. She's ready to trade her temporary home for a forever one filled with love, cozy naps, and plenty of cuddles.

Meet Emma and Beth (Coming soon)🐴💛

At Nexus, we have a special place in our hearts for donkeys, and we are delighted to introduce you to Emma and Beth! Emma is a stunning, sweet-natured mammoth Jenny who is incredibly eager to please. While she can be a little nervous at times and appreciates a bit of gentle guidance, she warms up to new people very quickly. Beth is a stunning, curious, and spirited companion who is just a little more playful than her best friend, Emma. She is incredibly bright and eager to engage with the world around her, and she warms up to new people very quickly.

Both girls will pick up their feet for you, though they could use a patient hand to help them stay consistent with this behavior. They will load in the trailer, but working on this wouldn't hurt! We bet they could learn some pretty cool tricks in the right hands or be able to be the best of friends to your other farm animals if you have them.

Emma and Beth are best friends who share a beautiful bond. They spend their days happily running and playing together along the fence line, and they both love a good carrot as a treat. These two are a fantastic, well-matched team, and we are looking for the perfect home to adopt them together.

If you are seeking loyal, playful companions to brighten your days, please consider giving this wonderful pair a home!

Emma and Beth are listed as coming soon until their full vet intake is completed. They will be up to date on dental work, farrier and vaccines and then they'll be ready to meet their new family!
