All Paws Rescue's Guinea Pigs & Friends

All Paws Rescue's Guinea Pigs & Friends Our goal is to help rescue and rehome pocket-sized pets in the state of Oklahoma.

Our organization assists with the rescue of guinea pigs, in addition to dogs, cats, ferrets, birds and other exotics. Our rescue is foster-based and we do not have a physical facility with visiting hours. Visits with animals are by appointment only, or during special outreach events.

This sweet shy-guy is Zucchini!

Zucchini is about a year old and recently joined our rescue herd. He has a very charming demeanor and is slowly warming up to us with some treats and encouragement. We’re going to give him some time to decompress before he’s ready for adoption, but keep an eye on our page for a chance to adopt Zucchini!

Now that our boy Squeak has passed the 4-week mark, he’s been separated from Tulip & Pip. It’s been rough on the little guy! The screams for mom are heartbreaking to hear, but it’s necessary to prevent anymore unwanted pregnancies. This time is also crucial for males to learn social skills from other male guinea pigs.

We decided to introduce Squeak to one of our senior APR Alums, Apollo, and it went pretty well! Even if they don’t feel like staying friends, the social interaction is good for both of these guys. ♥️

Our pups will be ✨4-weeks old✨tomorrow! Soon it’ll be time for them to start the rest of their lives in their forever homes. Tomorrow comes the hard part for our boy, Squeak: saying goodbye to his mom, Tulip, and sister, Pip. 😓

Male guinea pigs reach sexual maturity as early as 3–4 weeks old, meaning they can impregnate their mothers or female siblings at a surprisingly young age. While it’s tough to separate baby boys from their families, it’s a necessary step to prevent anymore unwanted litters.

Because we want to give these little ones the best possible start—and due to some earlier bouts of conjunctivitis—we chose to wait until Squeak reached 4 weeks old before separating him.

These guys are healthy and happy and should be ready to go on June 28th! Tulip already has an approved adopter with one of our APR Alum families, but Pip & Squeak will be available for ✨PRE-ADOPTION✨ when they’re 5-weeks old on June 18th!

Don’t mind Squeak attempting to free-climb the wall—he was especially brave! Look at how big Pip is compared to her mom, Tulip 😍

Tulip, Pip, and Squeak will be ready to find their forever homes in 3-4 weeks, stay tuned for more pupdates ♥️

Our Baby Bulbs are 15 days old! 🥺

Where has the time gone?! In 4 or 5 weeks, these guys will be ready to find their forever homes. Pip & Squeak’s crusty eyes have cleared up with some TLC and everyone is doing great. Pip, Squeak, and their mom, Tulip, have blossomed as they’ve grown up together and have developed their own unique personalities. We still have a ways to go with their trust training, but they will all be wonderful pets when they’re ready to go! ♥️

Pip & Squeak are 10 days old today! They’ve almost doubled in size and are very vocal and active. We’re still working on socializing this little family—having a skittish mom often makes for skittish pups. Tulip is starting to take food from our hands and is becoming easier to wrangle which ultimately helps her babies learn to trust humans.

The pups have also developed some minor conjunctivitis that we are keeping a close eye on (no pun intended). Mom is very healthy and doing a good job caring for her babies, so the outlook should be wonderful for this family.

Our babies are still active, vocal, and eating great!
Stay tuned for pupdates! If you feel like spoiling Tulip, Pip, and Squeak, check out our Amazon Wishlist:

🌷The baby Tulip Bulbs have arrived!🌷

Tulip gave birth to two healthy babies last night and they’re a spitting image of their mother.

Mom and her new babies are resting comfortably now, and she’s still adjusting to her new role as a young mom (talk about a terrified new-mom face 😂).

It will be a couple of days until we can determine their genders, but stayed tuned for adorable baby piggy updates!

**NOTE: Tulip & her babies will NOT be available for adoption until they are 6-7 weeks old. We will not accept applications for them until they are posted for adoption.**

🌺Happy Mother’s Day!🌺

Whether you’re a mother or caregiver to humans, pets, or even plants, you make a difference in the lives of those who depend on you.

Baby Tulip is still pregnant with some very active pups. Poor girl is feeling all of the kicks from her growing babies today. If you think being pregnant with humans is rough, imagine 2-3 fully formed babies and their 4 feet tap dancing their hearts out in your belly! 💃

She’s at least 51 days pregnant now and the average gestation period is 63-68 days. Given her small size, she might give birth in the next few days—we’re certainly rooting for this young mama to be done soon, but not til her babies are ready! 🙂

She’s eating wonderfully and getting lots of rest in her cozy habitat, so in the meantime, stay tuned for Tulip pupdates! 🥰
