🐾 “Why is your adoption fee $175 and up?” 🐾
We hear this question all the time.
The short answer? Not even close.
Before one of our kittens is ready to go home, they’ve already received weeks (sometimes months!) of care. Here’s what typically goes into preparing one healthy kitten for adoption:
💉 Spay/Neuter Surgery – $75–$150
💉 FVRCP Vaccinations (2–3) – $40–$90
🩺 Veterinary Exam(s) – $40–$75
🐛 Multiple Dewormings – $15–$30
🦟 Flea Prevention – $15–$25
🦠 F***l Testing/Treatment (when needed) – $25–$60
💊 URI, eye infections, GI medications, probiotics, and other common treatments – $20–$100+
📋 Microchip (if included) – $20–$40
And that’s just the medical care.
Every kitten also receives:
🐱 Premium kitten food
🧺 Litter and litter supplies
🧼 Laundry detergent, disinfectants, paper towels, and cleaning supplies
🧸 Bedding, toys, enrichment, and socialization
❤️ Countless hours of love from our volunteers and fosters
💙 The reality is that we often invest $300–$600+ into a single kitten before they’re ready for adoption—and that’s assuming there are no major medical issues.
Our $175 adoption fee helps offset only a portion of those costs. The rest comes from donations, fundraising, and compassionate animal lovers who believe every kitten deserves a chance.
