💛 Nelson 💛
He is a distinguished older gentleman who is well mannered and sweet. He proudly walked down the isle and completely ignored all the chaos around him. And given the extra long p*e he took when we got outside, I'd safely bet Nelson is housebroken already. He will sit if you ask him to and is pretty good at catching treats.
Nelson greeted every person and dog with a tail wag and will probably make a horrible watchdog. 😜

Nelson is 8 yrs old, weighs about 60lbs, and is waiting for you to meet him at Marion County Animal Services in Ocala, FL.

💜 Songbird 💜
She is just 27lbs, 3yrs old and terrified of this place. She let me leash her but wouldn't walk, so I carried her out to the yard. She took treats i tossed but stayed still in the grass.... until another dog came walking by. Then that tail couldn't wag fast enough! 😍 Dogs like Songbird need time and patience. She would probably totally different in a home, especially if there was another dog to give her confidence. I'm hoping someone will give her that chance and either foster or, better yet, adopt her and make her world less of a scary place.

✨Lyric✨
Remember the scared dog that we had to slowly coaxing out of her kennel? Well, look at her now! 😍 Lyric happily trotted out to the play yard with me and had a blast playing with a squeaky toy. Sadly, I had to bring her back and she was not very happy about that. Lyric is sweet, gentle, and very affectionate. She really wants a home and toys of her very own. Please consider her!

Lyric is 2yrs old and weighs about 50lbs. She is available for adoption or foster at Marion County Animal Services in Ocala, FL.

Meet our Pets of the Week!

Ezzy | Male | 10 Months Old –
Found by a FedEx driver, they discovered Ezzy’s love for French fries, this guy is ready for a bigger delivery: a forever home. Social, smart, and full of puppy charm, he deserves to grow up with a family who will enjoy every bit of his silliness and sweetness.

Star | Female | 10 Weeks Old –
Found a month ago, marching straight down the middle of the street and screaming her little lungs out, Star made sure we noticed her (and thank goodness she did). Equal parts playful and affectionate, this big-personality kitten is a true standout — and a staff favorite.

Yvonne | Female | 5 Years Old –
Since arriving at MCAS, Yvonne has started blossoming from a fearful girl into a loving companion. She enjoys rolling in the grass and leaning on us for comfort. She been having a great time romping in the yard with her new shelter dog friends. She’s ready to keep growing in the safety of a good home filled with love.

August is Clear the Shelters Month. We are joining agencies all over the country and offering free adoptions all month!
