💛 Sheba Update: Looking for a Very Special Foster 💛
Despite everything she’s been through, 7-month-old Sheba is recovering well and remains the happiest little girl. She’s eating, playful, affectionate, and absolutely adorable.
After suffering with a severe re**al prolapse for over a week without proper medical care, Sheba required emergency surgery to remove necrotic colon tissue and save her life.
The biggest challenge right now is that Sheba is having very frequent bowel movements. While her stool is becoming more formed, she is still having accidents and needs someone who understands that rescue and recovery isn’t always neat and tidy.
Sheba’s medical team is continuing to adjust her diet and add fiber in hopes that things will improve as her body heals from the removal of necrotic colon tissue and the severe prolapse she endured before rescue. Because of the extent of her injuries, it’s hard to know what her long-term recovery will look like.
What we do know is that Sheba deserves the chance to heal in a home.
At just 19 pounds, she’s the perfect size, incredibly sweet, loves attention, and doesn’t let much get her down. She is looking for the right family to help her through this stage of recovery.
Could you be Sheba’s hero? Apply to foster today at rbari.org.
