Join Rescue Village on June 5 for an unforgettable evening in support of the animals, featuring dinner, drinks, our annual rescue video premiere, and auction experiences created especially for this year’s gala.

One of this year’s featured live auction items is a Private Chef Experience with Honorary Chair Jill Vedda, the acclaimed chef behind Salt+ in Lakewood and now Vice President of Culinary Operations for Buildings and Food Hospitality Group.

Jill is one of Northeast Ohio’s most respected culinary talents. A three-time James Beard Foundation Award nominee and Food Network’s Chopped competitor, she is known for bold flavors, refined technique, and the kind of calm, creative presence that turns a meal into an experience.

For the winning bidder, Jill will bring that skill and imagination into their own home, transforming the kitchen into a one-night-only chef’s table. The host provides the ingredients, and Jill creates a customized meal shaped around the occasion, the guests, and the joy of gathering around food prepared with care.

We are grateful to Jill for serving as this year’s Honorary Chair and for donating this incredible auction experience to help raise money for the animals of Rescue Village.

It is intimate, personal, and far beyond an ordinary dinner party.

And you do not have to attend the gala to support the animals. Our online auction is open, with wonderful packages available for bidding now.

Every ticket, every bid, and every gift helps Rescue Village provide shelter, medical care, humane investigations, adoption services, and hope for animals who need us.

Buster was chatting with our Executive Director, Ken, as he awaited his turn to appear on Fox8's Rescue Me segment with Natalie Herbick, airing this Saturday at noon. He was thrilled to represent all the fur-riendly couch potatoes at Rescue Village that are waiting for a home, and of course, a couch & permission to snuggle (he is quite polite about it all).

After 300 days at Rescue Village, Cash finally went home. 🐾

Three hundred days of walks, treats, enrichment, training, clean kennels, hopeful conversations, second chances, fostering, medical care, and refusing to give up on him.

Long-stay animals ask something different of a humane society. They ask for patience. They ask people to keep seeing possibility long after the first rush of attention fades. Cash’s journey belonged to a lot of people who kept showing up for him every single day.

Today, that wait turned into a beginning.

Thank you to everyone who helped Cash along the way, and congratulations to his new family. We are wishing all of you a beautiful life together. ❤️

😽This kind couple, Elizabeth and Andrew Stark, stopped in last Friday to pay for/sponsor the adoption fees for eleven adult cats currently up for adoption! They love cats and already have a full house, but they wanted to pay it forward to help others and to spotlight all the adult cats needing a loving home.

🐶Playful and Cuddly!🐾
At just 3 years old, Bobby is full of life. This playful, affectionate, Boxer/St. Bernard mix has been through a lot, but he is so resilient! He loves soaking up the sunshine just as much as he enjoys being near his people. He may need a little patience as he continues to grow and learn routines, but he gives so much joy in return.

Right now, Bobby is waiting for his person… and he’s not alone.
Rescue Village has so many incredible dogs in need of homes, each with their own story, each hoping for someone to give them a chance.

🎉Last week, we had the joy of celebrating our incredible staff and volunteers at our annual Staff & Volunteer Appreciation event.

Our appreciation event was just a small way to say thank you for the big hearts behind everything. We’re so grateful for each and every staff member and volunteer who gives their time, energy, and love to make Rescue Village a place of hope and second chances.

Thank you volunteers!❤️⭐️
We continue to highlight our amazing volunteers this month who help in so many ways!

This brave group, along with RV ambassador pup, Fiona, spent a cold day waiting to walk in the Maplefest parade in Chardon yesterday to pass out candy and dog treats and flyers to hundreds of people in the crowd. They were all smiles and happy to help, thank you all!

The Kent State Flashes alum group helped create raffle baskets for our Staff and Volunteer Appreciation event and sanitized our reading program library books and more.

We are grateful for such a giving community and the dedication our volunteers have in helping us spread awareness for homeless animals!
