Hello everyone! We will be closed on Monday, May 26th for Memorial day! 🐾 We will reopen on Tuesday, May 27th at 8am. If you need care for your pet while we’re closed, please go to an emergency vet such as BluePearl or Veterinary Specialty Center or an Urgent Care like EVS. If anyone’s looking to part with any regular bath towels they have, we are taking donations to replenish our supply! We’re not picky, we just ask they have no rips or holes. Suns out, parasites out! 😳 It’s that time of year where the ticks and mosquitos are coming out of hiding, and they’re hungry! 😖

Heartworm (spread through mosquito bites to dogs) and tick-born diseases like Lyme, Anaplasma and Ehrlichia are all preventable with a monthly preventative like Simparica Trio, or a combo like Interceptor + Credelio. There are also topical options for our pickier friends, so there’s prevention for everyone! We highly recommend all dogs (and kitties who go outside!) are protected against these infections all year round- especially in the spring + summer months.

If your pet needs to get their preventative prescription refilled, please call our office or you can order it through our online pharmacy through our website (as long as they have a negative heartworm test on file!).

Welcome to Kohn Animal Hospital! We are a full service hospital treating dogs, cats, reptiles, rabbits, and other exotic pets. The original Kohn Animal Hospital was located in Highland Park, IL and was created by Dr. Leonard Kohn in the early 1950s. His granddaughter, Dr. Greta Mann, has revitalized the practice to follow in his footsteps. We value close relationships with our clients and take pride in our family-type atmosphere here at Kohn Animal Hospital. Our staff is excited for the opportunity to help you and your pets.
