Fear free Friday! Betty is shy and finds grooming scary. She’s come such a long way, but still needs sedation to help her through comfortably—and afterward, she feels amazing!

Fear Free care means listening to our patients. For Betty, that means choosing sedation instead of pushing her through something that frightens her.

Disclaimer: we’re not groomers, but by the grace of the grooming gods, her haircut turned out pretty cute!

Does your pup or kitty dread nail trims or grooming? You’re not alone! Let’s talk about ways to make it easier on them.

In the spirit of Día de los Mu***os, October 27 is a day to remember beloved pets who have passed on. Families leave water, favorite foods, and special mementos to welcome their companions’ spirits home—a beautiful reminder that the love we share never leaves us.

Last week, our hearts were heavy as we joined Isen’s family in saying a loving goodbye. With his mom’s permission, we’re sharing his memory and honoring the life of a truly special boy. 🤍

Isen lived 14 years surrounded by love. He was a cherished companion to his family and an active part of the Chicago Schutzhund Verein community. Gentle and kind, he was a sweet soul who wouldn’t hurt a fly.

Dr. Preiser had the privilege of caring for Isen throughout his life, watching him grow and sharing so many years with him and his family. He held a special place in her heart and in the hearts of our entire team. Our love is with his family as they navigate life without their sweet boy.

Isen will always be part of our Preiser family, alongside so many beloved pets and the families who have trusted us with their care. Thank you for letting us love them, too.

If you feel comfortable, share a photo or memory of a pet you’re remembering today. We would be honored to remember them with you.
