Happy Caturday!!!

We are SO Proud and SUPER excited to announce that Dr. Southern passed her boards and is now a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Preventative Medicine!!!! Lots of extra hours of education and studying went behind taking these boards and we are absolutely thrilled for her that all her hardwork and effort has been recognized!

Reminder, we are closed today for 4th of July! If your pet is experiencing an emergency, please contact VRA 301-926-3300 or Blue Pearl 301-637-3228 or Metropolitan Animal Emergency And Specialty 301- 770-5225. Please keep in mind that like any ER there will be a wait. Go prepared with human drink/snacks and a book/craft to keep you occupied while you wait. We hope that you do not have to utilize the ER, but want to make sure you have information just incase. We will be back in the office tomorrow! We hope you have a safe and wonderful holiday. Temperatures are rising! Please be mindful for your fuzzy family members!

Some other tips:
- Keep pets indoors whenever possible especially during these heat emergency warnings.
- Limit outdoor exercise to early mornings or dusk
- Avoid long walks in the heat
- Provide pets with more cool water sources

Remember, if the pavement is too hot for your bare foot, it is too hot for their paws!

Also, if your pet is on a medication to keep keep them calm during the firework season and you need a refill, please let us know as soon as possible so we can make sure that we have it in stock for your pet!

Happy Caturday! These fuzzy boys are still looking for their furever home. They are full of personality and are a bonded pair and do rely on one another. They are hilarious when they “hunt” treats and chase after them being tossed. They love to perch on the cat tree and take in their surroundings. They are great chore buddies by distracting you and make you laugh while folding laundry or washing dishes. Let us know if you’d like to meet them, you will not be disappointed!

This upcoming weekend is when a lot of flowers and yummy goodies get potentially shared when visiting family and friends. Please be aware there are certain types of flowers ESPECIALLY Lilies that are quite toxic and could be deadly to our feline family members. Aspca poison control has more information to read up on plants as well if you would like more information. Have a wonderful and happy weekend.
