It’s with very heavy hearts that we share the news of the unexpected and sudden loss of one of our shop dogs, Levi Patrick. 🐾💔

Levi came to work every day with his Mom & Dad - Sarah & Kevin. Kevin is our son & our store manager and Sarah is our daughter- in-law who also works with us.
Levi spent most of his days in our back room & office with his litter mate Lola, but occasionally made appearances out front when we needed a handsome model to take photos for the shop. He is so loved by his friends & fellow coworkers and will be deeply missed.

Our family and our FYPO family are all mourning the loss of this sweet soul. Our hearts are broken…
- Kathy & Brian

Here is Levi’s story written by Kevin….

Eight and half years ago shortly after Sarah and I had first started dating back in Vermont our friend's dog Layla got pregnant. At the time Layla gave birth she had really bad fleas and so did all 10 puppies. So I agreed to take Layla and the puppies back to our place and treat them till they got rid of the fleas and we're ready for the forever homes.

The fleas were so bad I spent everyday flea combing them all day and night to try and help them.
One particular puppy had it really bad he cried all night and I spent so much time with him just desperately trying to relieve him from the fleas. That puppy was my Levi Patrick. We bonded over this.

After 8 weeks they were flea free and ready to go home Sarah and I decided to keep two puppies Levi and Lola. We were so in love. They completely changed our world. They taught us about love, compassion and gave us a sense of responsibility that led us to where we are today.

Lola and Levi had the strongest bond practically sharing the same brain cells. They did everything together and hated being apart. But they were also polar opposites he loved swimming, snacks and playing with balls. And she loved sitting in the sun, snuggles and her toys.

We had unknowingly started what would become our amazing family.
A few years later we added some ducks to the family and moved back to North Conway to join the family business. Levi and Lola loved coming to work at the shop everyday. But Levi especially did. He would get to see all his favorite people everyday get lots of snacks, butt scratches and love.

Soon we added Walter to our family. While they got along at first they soon became rivals and would fight all the time. This was a huge stress on our family but we pushed through and made it work. We also added more ducks, and numerous small animals to our crew. Our family had grown so large and it was amazing!

In 2020 Sarah and I got married and Lola and Levi were at our side the whole time. Life was so good.

Slowly over the next few years we would lose all of our small animals and most of our ducks. It was so painful to watch our family shrink. But all three dogs were right there giving us love and support, especially Levi.

Then in the fall of 2023 we announced the addition of our amazing daughter Ellie. In May of 2024 she was born and our family grew again in a huge way. I'll never forget the dogs greeting her when we came home. They all gave her kisses welcoming her home.

Fast forward through the most amazing year of my life watching my daughter grow and our dogs fall in love with her just like we did. Levi was super sweet and we always talked about how excited we were for them to play ball together. Levi loved every toddler/kid he ever met. We had the most amazing family.

On June 12th 2025 I loaded up Lola and Levi in my truck and headed of to work just like everyday. He had a great morning even got to see one of his favorite delivery drivers and shared some strawberries with me. Later that morning I noticed him panting in my office when I asked him to get up he could barely walk and almost collapsed, his gums were almost white. I ran him to my truck and rushed him to the closest vet.

Conway vet did an ultrasound and saw fluid around his heart he had a Pericardial Effusion and needed the fluid drained immediately. So off we rush to MVMC in Scarborough Maine and hour and a half away. This was the scariest car ride of my life not knowing if I could make it there in time. He was in so much pain.

We finally arrived and he had made it there. They drained the fluid out and he started to stabilize. But what they told me was the the fluid most likely came from a tumor on his heart. After some test we confirmed that was true. They suspected Hemangiosarcoma on the heart. Sarah and I were devasted. They told us with treatment he would have a few months.

Sarah went home to take care of our family and I stayed at a hotel right around the corner in case he needed me. We were told we could go home the next day and follow up with oncology. Before he was released we wanted to do more testing to see if the cancer had spread. It had... And while he waited for the test he had another
Pericardial Effusion. This was all worst case scenario. His body was failing him.

Our options were taking him home and hope he doesn't bleed or say goodbye. After consulting with multiple vets we determined that he would most likely bleed again soon and that his quality of life would severely decline. We couldnt bare to see him live like that. He was the best boy and didn't deserve it. We didn't want his last moments to be in pain.

So I took Levi to a local park to spend some quality time with him. Sarah, Ellie and Lola drove back to Scarborough to meet us so we could say goodbye.

Levi and I laid under a tree at the park by the water and watched as the world went on around us. I had two more hours with my boy but it only felt like a few minutes. Sarah, Ellie and Lola joined us and we went on a long walk and sat by the water watching the ducks and eating some chicken nuggets. It was so bittersweet but so peaceful. And we're so lucky we got that time with him.

A few hours later our world shattered as he took his final breath with his twin sister, Mom and Dad holding him tightly. The last thing he knew was how much he was loved.

Our world will never be the same. There is a hole in my heart I don't think I can ever fill again. Our house is quiet. There are signs of him everywhere. His sister is grieving the loss just as much as we are. Our family is broken.

Rest in Peace my sweet Levi Patrick. We will love you always and forever.

If you attended our Easter event back in April, you might remember meeting this sweet boy, Yondu. He was available for adoption through and had been there for far too long. Fast forward to the other day when he walked in with his new owner who had amazing things to report. Yondu is getting along perfectly with the dog his new owner already had at home. He’s in amazing shape, and goes on enriching walks every day. It made our day to see him again, especially since he was finally in a home he could call his own, safe and happy.
