Hope for Hooves Rescue - Unbridled Freedom

Hope for Hooves Rescue is a South Carolina nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating equines so they can, in turn, help restore faith and rebuild trust in those who need it most. Many of our farm animals are rescued from situations of neglect and abuse, and given a second chance to live out the rest of their lives helping

humans who need to experience the equivalent amount of love and healing. Through our various programs and the grounding process of every day farm life, we strive to introduce others to the therapeutic nature of connecting to the earth, animals, and hopefully in the process- oneself. Anyone is welcome to experience the healing nature of our farm- foster children, cancer patients, single parents, domestic violence survivors, human trafficking survivors, veterans, those with special needs and anyone who may be battling inner turmoil.

Sometimes more isn’t the goal. Sometimes deeper is. 💚🐴

One thing we have learned through Healing With Horses is that we never want to put God in a box.

There have been seasons when we felt Him leading us to open our doors wider, offering larger group sessions and welcoming 20–25 children at a time.

And then there are seasons like this one.

Right now, we have 11 children registered, and I truly believe this is exactly where God wants us to stop for this semester. (odd number, right?)

Because maybe this time, the goal isn’t to reach more children at once.

Maybe it’s to give these 11 children more.

More one-on-one time with their mentors.
More time connecting with the horses.
More opportunities to be heard.
More encouragement.
More individual attention.
More room to build trust, confidence, and connection.

We can make our plans, set our numbers, and create our schedules, but ultimately, we want to leave room for God to lead this program wherever He wants it to go.

So instead of focusing on filling more spots, we are shifting our focus to making sure the 11 children God has already placed in our care are fully sponsored.

Our remaining sponsorship goal is $2,400.

A full sponsorship is $250 per child, but you absolutely do not have to give $250 to be part of this.

$25 matters.
$50 matters.
$100 matters.
Every single gift matters.

And when all of those gifts come together, they give a child the opportunity to spend nine weeks surrounded by horses, caring mentors, encouragement, connection, and HOPE. 💚

11 children.
11 stories.
11 lives worth pouring into.

And we cannot wait to see what God does with them. 🐴🤎

Will you help us fully sponsor our 11? 💚

And if sponsoring a child isn’t something you’re able to do right now, would you pray for them? 🙏💚

Pray that they feel safe, seen, valued, and loved. Pray for the mentors who will walk alongside them, for the horses who will quietly help build trust, and for God to use these nine weeks in ways we could never plan ourselves.

Whether you give, pray, or simply share this post, you are helping us surround these children with HOPE. 🐴💚

Our Barn Store basket is looking a little bare! 😔

Right now, our participants have just a handful of goodies to choose from: bottled water, Crunch bars, pens, cups, hats, and popcorn.

And y’all... they LOVE the Barn Store! ❤️

The Barn Store is actually an important part of our Unbridled Abilities Employment Readiness Program. Our participants earn Barn Bucks by showing up, working hard, completing responsibilities, practicing good workplace habits, and growing in their skills.

But we’re not just teaching employment readiness. We’re teaching financial readiness, too. 💵

Participants get to decide what to do with the Barn Bucks they earn: spend them, save them, budget for something they really want, and experience the connection between work, earnings, choices, and rewards.

That means those little items sitting in our Barn Store basket are doing a whole lot more than you might think. ❤️

Want to help us stock the store? We would LOVE donations of new, fun, practical items our adults would be excited to work toward purchasing with their Barn Bucks.

And if you aren't able to donate but have a great idea for something we should add, please drop your suggestions in the comments! We’d love to hear them.

Every Barn Buck has a lesson behind it: Earn it. Save it. Spend it with purpose. 🐴💵❤️

September is coming and so is another season of HOPE + HEALING. 💛🐴

As we prepare for our fall semester, we are getting the farm, our horses, and most importantly, our hearts ready to welcome another group of children to Hope for Hooves.

There are several ways you can be part of what God is doing here.

If you're able to give, your donation helps make Healing With Horses possible for these children. Every amount matters.

And if giving financially isn't possible right now, we would treasure your prayers just as much. 🙏

♡ Pray for the children.
♡ Pray for our HOPE Mentors as they pour into them.
♡ Pray for our horses who have such a special role in this ministry.
♡ Pray for our farm, that it continues to be a safe place where children can exhale, connect, grow, and find hope + healing.

And above all, pray that God uses every moment, every conversation, every horse, and every person to remind these children just how deeply loved and valuable they are.

For quite some time, we had been watching this tree beside our barn. The top had died, and every time a storm rolled through, large branches would fall.

We knew it had become dangerous to our horses, dangerous to our volunteers and dangerous to our barn.

So today, the tree came down.

And as I watched it fall, I couldn't help but think about how much this resembles life.

Sometimes God allows something to be removed not because it was always bad, but because its season is over.

That tree had once been healthy. It had once provided shade. It had once belonged right where it stood.

But something that once served a purpose had become a threat to what was growing around it.

And sometimes, God does the same thing in our lives.

He removes relationships.He closes doors.
He changes plans. He asks us to release things we thought would always be there.

And sometimes we grieve what is falling without realizing God is protecting what remains.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us,
"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven."

Not everything that was once good is meant to remain forever.

Sometimes pruning isn't enough.

Sometimes God says, "This has to come down because I am protecting what I am growing."

And maybe the falling isn't the ending at all.

Maybe it's God clearing the ground for what comes next.

There is still hope in the clearing.

Thank you to my hubby and to Eric Moore for cutting it down safely.
