Our motto is: Keeping pets and people together! We focus on a non-judgemental approach that follows the three E’s; Educate - Encourage - Enable! is working to become a comprehensive community center that assists animals and their people. believes that keeping

people and pets together, whenever it is possible and appropriate to do so, should be a priority for the animal welfare community and for society as a whole. To achieve this goal, we must put aside preconceived notions and treat people with respect and dignity whatever their financial or other life circumstances. We must support laws and policies that strengthen and support rather than break the bond between people and their animal companions. And perhaps most importantly, we must all work together; human and animal service agencies, pet owners, veterinarians, landlords, and policy makers; to ensure that pets and their people continue to live together; safe, secure, happy, and a vital part of the community. believes that pets and people belong together; that financial circumstances alone are not reliable indicators of the capacity to love and care for a companion animal, and that strong bonds between people and pets make for stronger communities. Our ultimate goal is to reach companion animals and their people, especially in underserved communities, using a comprehensive grassroots approach to sharing pet wellness information, resources, and services. These components should ideally be centralized, with convenient access for all. Pets are companions, and because humans make decisions for them, reaching out to their owners in an effective, non-judgemental and genuine manner must be part of the solution to reducing animal suffering.

What a wonderful week at PCH! We are heading into September with so much to celebrate!

It was a big week for our partner The Cat’s Meow Cafe. They officially moved into their new location and opened their doors with more PCH! cats than ever before. We’re really looking forward to this next chapter and all the wonderful opportunities it brings for more of our cats as they wait for their forever homes. If you haven't made it over to the new place yet, you should make a note to go!

Thank you to our PCH! volunteers, staff, fosters, adopters, donors, and supporters who make each of these adoptions and moments possible. This week was a wonderful reminder that our community really is all in this together. So many different people play a part in helping these animals, and we are incredibly grateful for every one of you.

Keep an eye on www.petcentralhelps.org to see the pets who are still waiting as we continue on our mission for help more pets find their homes.

Another chance to come see our currently adoptable cuties! 🐾

We’ll be at PetSmart Bloomington from 11–2 today with adoptable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens hoping to find their families. Come see the pets that are out with us and maybe meet one who feels like the right fit for you!

Pet Central Helps is turning TEN in December! What else?
-So far, we've adopted out over 14,000 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens 🧡
-In 2025 alone we found over 2300 homes for animals in need.
- We operate a drive-up food pantry that feeds an average of 150 animals every month to enable pets to stay with their people.
- Have trained, state licensed humane investigators for McLean County.
-Operate a low-cost public spay/neuter program in the surgical unit at our facility.
-Employ, educate, and prepare Illinois State University pre-veterinary students for vet school admission.
-Have an on-site laboratory with state of the art IDEXX machinery to keep our animals healthy.
-Partner with The Cat’s Meow Cafe to facilitate adoptions for cats.
- Run a foster program with 400+ approved foster families.
-Partner with PetSmart - Bloomington, IL for big adoption events every weekend. We also have kitties in the PetSmart Charities cat adoption center...and so much more!

Today’s Pet of the Day is... Beans!

Beans is a 4-year-old, 43-pound Bernedoodle with a gentle, sweet personality. She can be a little timid at first, but with some patience and encouragement, she’s ready to keep building her confidence and showing off more of her sweet side. Beans is currently sporting a short haircut, but her gorgeous Bernedoodle coat will grow back! This beautiful girl is ready to settle in, soak up some love, and find a family of her own.
