When I announced a scholarship opportunity for Beyond the Role, I planned to award one recipient.

Two incredible women applied.

As I read their applications, I was deeply moved by their courage, vulnerability, and willingness to be seen. After spending time in reflection, it became clear that I wasn't being asked to choose between them.

So instead of awarding one scholarship, I followed what felt right and awarded both Audra and Lupita full scholarships to attend Beyond the Role this October.

I truly believe they are meant to be part of this experience, and I can't wait to witness the wisdom, healing, and connection they'll bring to our community.

What a glorious monsoon we're having here in Patagonia!

This is the first year I've been able to experience the kind of monsoon season this area is known for. After several years of drought, it's incredible to watch the desert come alive with just a little nourishment.

The grasses are green. The wildflowers are blooming. The horses are contentedly grazing. Life returns in ways that once seemed impossible.

It makes me wonder...

If a little rain can awaken the desert, what might happen if we offered that same nourishment to our own spirit?

Meet Darci Sinnott — one of our guest facilitators for Beyond the Role 🐴

Darci is the founder of Purple Sage Wellness, bringing sound healing, Reiki, and yoga to her practice. She joined us this past April for Awakened Presence with Horses, where she led Yin Yoga, Sound Healing, and co-created energy healing with the horses, and offered tuning fork attunements — layering in that steady, resonant kind of stillness that only deepens when horses are part of the space.

At Beyond the Role (October 29 – November 1, Southern Arizona), Darci returns to bring that same sound and energy work into our container of six healers and 40 sacred acres.

An update on Echo — he's home after five days in the vet hospital. He got caught in something thorny and ended up with a thorn embedded in his flexor sheath, which meant surgery to remove it. The bill: $8,500.

And when we got home from the hospital, PJ was there waiting — freshly bitten by a rattlesnake. When it rains, it pours.

I sold cows to cover it. Both of them are safe now. That's what matters.

I won't pretend this hasn't made me reflect on what it actually costs to keep this place running — financially, physically, emotionally. I built this ranch alone, from buying the land to building every structure on it. I set it up as a non-profit because my goal isn't profit — it's simply to earn enough to feed and care for the horses and the land, and to keep offering this space to others.

Because that's what this place is for: a sacred space where the quiet wisdom of horses and the gentle presence of nature invite you home to yourself. Where you're guided to pause, to heal, to root back into the rhythms of the earth — one breath, one moment at a time.

Right now I have a way for you to be part of that. I'm raffling a custom saddle worth $4,400 — $100 a ticket. Every ticket also helps fund a spot at my next retreat for a Health Services Worker, someone who gives so much to others and rarely gets the chance to receive. It's a shot at something beautiful, and an investment in someone else's healing at the same time.

I won't lie — it's been hard to keep believing in this work when so few people know it needs support to survive. But I do believe in it. And I believe there are people out there ready to invest in themselves, in this land, and in each other.

Meet Liz Cutting — one of our guest facilitators for Beyond the Role 🐴

Liz is the founder of Mane and Soul, an equine-guided coaching and breathwork practice in Tucson. After years in the corporate world, she traded the hustle for the desert and her horses — and found a different kind of strength, one rooted in presence instead of performance.

Now she guides women through that same homecoming: using breathwork and the quiet wisdom of horses to help them move from anxious and overextended to calm, clear, and grounded.

At Beyond the Role (October 29 – November 1, Southern Arizona), Liz will be bringing her equine coaching and breathwork work into our container of six healers and 40 sacred acres — helping each of us reconnect with who we are underneath the roles we carry.

Liz has been co-creating healing at Triple HP Ranch since I found this land, leading yoga with horses, co-facilitating my first retreat, Awakened Presence with Horses this past April. Liz bring a light so full of joy and wonder, I'm honored to call her my Tribe Sister 🥰
