❤️✨It’s Wishlist Wednesday and we’d like to introduce you to someone very special, a someone who needs all the well-wishes and right now, a little more✨❤️

Please meet Chonkers. Her face says it all. She’s the tenderest, most innocent, bright eyed and bushy tailed creature you could ever have the luck to meet, and even though life has dealt her such unfair hand 🃏, she still meets each person with unreserved love and affection.

Chonkers came to us just over a month ago by way of a wonderfully kindhearted Good Samaritan who cared for this pregnant stray until she couldn’t, and then reached out to us. Chonkers came to the shelter about two weeks before giving birth, and on Tuesday, March 25th, she gave birth to six tiny kittens.

Unfortunately, for this sweet and caring momma, the kittens were born in ill-health, and despite her constant attention and staff intervention, none of her babies survived the week. We were all of us, especially Chonkers, heartbroken. You could see her searching the shelter looking for her kittens, just trying to make sense of it all 💔💔💔. (cont’d in comments)

🐱💖Remember when we said we were running extremely low on cat food? Well, the joke’s on us 🃏 because we have literally the most amazing support system in you all! We have been overwhelmed with food deliveries over the past three days, and we just cannot thank you enough 😭😭😭!! We are now beyond stocked, and don’t know where we’d be without you!!!💖🐱

🐈‍⬛🐈 💖Just us trying to keep our zen 🧘‍♀️starting off the week with 6 newborn kittens, a 🌶️ unaltered tomcat being abandoned here, and a never ending need for dry and canned cat and kitten food 🐱!

We have been trying to manage week to week, but sometimes it just feels like a lot-especially with kitten season only just beginning! 🍀 While any of additional luck we may have garnered on St. Paddy’s Day seems to have already fizzled out, as we’ve spent most of this week with a broken washer and a building backlog of dirty laundry 🧺, we always feel so fortunate in our partnership with Catalyst Pet Natural Litter! We may have stacked laundry piles, but our dwindling litter reserves have been replenished and it feels like things around here are bound to be on the upswing, right?! 🍀

🍸🍹🍷🍺 It’s and we’d like to introduce today’s special 🍺🍷🍹🍸

This tall drink of water goes by Tw***ie , and at ~9 years old and just a little over 5 lbs, you best believe she runs things here at the shelter 💅. This unassuming super senior packs a punch-with bright and vivacious notes of sass 💥 and sweetness 🍬 that are purrfectly balanced! Tw***ie keeps you coming back for more.

And never let her size or stature fool you. This delicate damsel (with gabapentin or not), wriggled her way out of bloodwork not once, but twice, and then finally had to be sedated - only to reveal that her numbers are flawless like her ✨. We should’ve known.

Tw***ie is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and Heartworm/FIV/FeLV tested. She gets along with everyone human and animals alike- especially if you come bearing food of the canned variety 🐟🐠. We’ve been a little bit quiet lately (sorry if you missed us 😘), we were just busy finishing February with SEVEN cat adoptions… AND celebrating last Friday when our Frozie and Tyrion went home together!!! 😭💖😭💖😭💖😭💖😭💖

Not only do they get to spend their days doing their favorite activity: lounging, but they get to do it with their awesome pawrents and baby sister, Leia, who is also a Protect 4 Paws 🐾 alum!!!!!!!!! You couldn’t ask for a happier ending!!!!!! And though we miss our ever-vigilant office guard dogs, our hearts are overjoyed knowing how happy they are in their new home!!!!

(A side note: this ‘Adopted’ plush bone toy was one of Tyrion’s favorites during the four months they were at the shelter, and when it came time for their adoption pictures, you can see the excitement could not be contained 😭😭😭!!)

💖❤️ After almost 3 full years of wishing and waiting, our Mouse found his furever home 🏠 with the sweetest, most understanding dad and we can still barely believe this fairytale ending!! We are so happy to share this with you all on Valentine’s Day and celebrate one of the greatest love stories ever told!! ❤️💖

💖💝 Sometimes love looks like puppy dog eyes beggin’ for some more belly rubs, and sometimes love looks like the guiltiest whodunnit face after letting a ‘little’ 💨pass.

For Frozie (11) and Tyrion (8), love is all about getting the chance to be vulnerable with someone who cares, and while that trust can take some time to build (especially for these two who spent the last 11 and 8 years of their life with the same people who just decided to move and leave them behind one day), once it is earned, there is no l👀king (or smelling) back.

While they might go without a suitor this Valentine’s Day (they’ve had no interest and zero adoption applications 💔💔💔💔), here’s to hoping they don’t have much longer to wait before they find people ready to return all the love they have to give.

❄️ Even though snowstorms and record lows did their best to hold us back, we still finished January strong 💪 with 6 (count ‘em 6️⃣!) cat adoptions!!! 💖💖💖 Including some feline friends who had been with us for months!! We are so happy for our Easter, Sage, Miniballen, and Aspen ( 📸 pictured here, respectively!) and our Calvin and Drainpipe who are not pictured and who most definitely did not cooperate for their happy tails photo opps!! ❄️

💖 We’d also be remiss if we did not mention that within literal days of posting our plea 🙏 for new cat beds, you all made sure that we did not go without!!! Thanks to our pawesome guardian angels 😇 at Greater Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning and past adopters Denise and Tom (Mr. Rogers/nka Harley’s parents), we have 5 new Kuranda beds just waiting to be put together!!!!! So if you have a rubber mallet and an unrelenting urge to lose your mind over lining up screws, holes, and bolts- you know where to find us 👀!! 💖

✨A shelter-wide New Year’s resolution has been to get more quality sleep 💤- something crucial for these little animals and their human caretakers alike. However, some of the cat trees and beds on which this restful slumber is supposed to occur have seen betterrrrrrrrr days (👀 peep the pic- one cat tree can only take so much!), and unfortunately, quality beds can be quite the expense and bit beyond our reach as we try to ride through January on the donation fumes of holidays 🚗.
