Welcome to the pack to Miss Ellie! This sweet Lil thing is our newest training client here for some assistance a little bit of a case of what we'll call forced lovins 😅 and some counter surfing. Because what girl doesn't love some good snackies?! 😳🫣 We'll help her be the demure lady she was always meant to be in no time! Her first session was a blast and she proved her loved for cheese was as strong as her love for snuggles. She will definitely be sleeping well tonight. Welcome sweet girl! 🥰

It's graduation day for Snoop Dog and his Dad! It's been such a treat getting to work this goofball! He has a BIG personality and most days I spent laughing at his antics. Signs of his targeting other dogs and leash reactivity are gone and he is so much more clear about the rules that he has been able to relax into a healthy relationship and truly be the goober he is! He now enjoys off leash walks though the neighborhood, romps at the park, a good game of tug with his new pole tug in the yard for some extra exercise and most of all his family which makes my heart smile. I will miss seeing this special dog weekly but he is off to live a life full of adventure. And his family has my number if they ever need anything! Good boy Snoop and excellent work to Jeff. Your dedication has paid off and you blow me away with how well you did! Great job! 💙

Yup, yup! Seen this struggle several times! Even with house mates, make sure you create the strongest relationship possible between you and each dog individually or they will prioritize the other dog every time!

DOUBLE TROUBLE
The challenges of raising two puppies together.

The problem behaviours that are commonly seen in dogs that are raised together is often mistakenly called “litter mate syndrome”, but these behaviours are not specific to dogs from the same litter and can occur with any 2 dogs that are raised together.

The problems that may develop have nothing to do with sharing similar DNA or coming from the same litter, but depends on how the pups are raised and how their environment is managed.

Problem behaviour is usually a combination of relational dynamics, poor socialisation, habituation, a lack of separate experiences and no individual resilience or self-confidence building.

Many people believe it’s a great idea to get two pups at the same time. They’ll be able to keep each other company when left alone, they won’t be bored; they’ll have each other to play with; they will always have a friend; both children in the family can have one; the breeder said it’s a good idea, you just couldn’t bear to leave the other one behind….and more, but this can lead to long term problems if there is no awareness of how to prevent potential problems.

Relying on the relationship between the dogs to fill the missing pieces of responsible pet parenting is setting the stage for the development of problem behaviours.

Although sibling pairs or 2 pups together may come with unique challenges, pups raised together can absolutely form healthy human bonds and develop into well-adjusted, confident dogs as long as their care givers are aware of what could go wrong and are prepared to put in the work to raise them.

Ok guys, it's time to harass our very own Jordyn a bit! We think she is an incredible groomer already but we think she should make it official by going for her very own Nationally Certified Master Groomer Certificate! What do you think? To our amazing clients:
After alot of discussion and crunching numbers, we have found that we need to raise boarding prices effective February 1, 2025. We are keenly aware of the financial impact this will have on so many of our clients and we do not take this decision lightly. None of us have been impervious to the financial pinch and we continually try to still give you the best care possible at a reasonable price. However with the minimum wage more than doubling, interest rates increasing (our loan payment for this business has more than doubled) and the cost of supplies and services increasing rapidly, our options to absorb the impact are limited and we refuse to sacrifice the level of care we offer. People usually assume my training sessions are super exciting, when in fact many are pretty boring. Depending on what each dog needs and the threshold we are working at, they can be us just sitting around to me doing cartwheels (literally) and practically standing on my head for my dogs. 😂 Tonight, I present the 'true' Snoop Dogg doing a boring down while learning impulse control around his favorite overstimulating thing, a laser pointer.

Side note- playing with a laser point with your dog can be super dangerous and create really bad obsessions that I guarantee you'll end up regretting and possibly paying someone like me to counter condition. So tip of the day! Keep the laser pointers for the cats only!😘
