As always, thanks to our customers at the Granville farmers market,we are so blessed !!! This week was pretty special, one of Charms puppies from last year is so endearing that his whole group of family and friends have adopted six puppies from this yrs litter!! Seeing these kids and dogs and families and knowing they will grow up together truly makes our hearts full ❤️. Looks like the rain has finally stopped now we have to battle the fungal issues that come with cool and wet. The pic of the mulch has some bizarre fungus I believe is called Stinkhorn ! Bumble bees are everywhere lately, especially the Joe pye flowers, they are really a pollinator magnet. We even have bees in our compost pile. According to our friends the Latshaws these big rains wash the nectar out of the flowers so the bees are hungry now. Bees are not after the pollen in flowers, that’s more of a side benefit of getting the nectar Have a great Monday!

We deal with living things, sometimes I wish we didn’t ! It would be so much easier to have products that don’t have a “shelf life”,but we love what we do in spite of the challenges. Our latest challenge has come with our recent litter of Charms puppies. Last yr Charm and Benny had 7 physically perfect puppies,we assumed this yr would be the same but the odds apparently have caught up with us The vet called it “lower narrow K-9 and we have seen it once before in Claudie’s litter,it is prevalent in poodles. The two bottom fangs are a couple degrees off of the direction they should be pointing and point upwards and can poke the roof of their mouth. As the pups chew on things the situation can resolve itself but not always. These are puppy teeth and the goal is not to let the permanent tooth follow the rout of the puppy tooth so a couple of these pups will get dental surgery in a couple weeks to get these puppy fangs pulled. It’s not a big deal but we don’t want to sell them until they are fixed. Timely Veterinarian appointments have been hard to come by lately and we have to wait till the 24th to get them fixed up and hopefully all will be good. Meanwhile we have these five sweet furballs who need and want more attention than we can give them at this time so we are floating this idea of fostering a puppy for a couple weeks. Not sure if this is practical but it might work in the right situation with the right people. We’re not looking to dodge our responsibility,we have everything they need here except the human interaction that they crave, they want to be with people so much! Please feel free to message us if you’re interested. We would also be up for puppy visits,if you would like to spend a little time socializing with them Meanwhile, this rain has really made our dahlias happy, they are big and lush and sending up lots of buds! Yesterday we picked our last lilies of the yr☹️ ,time is moving on and days are getting shorter but zinnias, dahlias and sunflowers are thriving. Life is good but often challenging!
