🏡 Catnip Cottage is the heart of our rescue! ❤️🐾
It’s our main hub and where so much of the behind-the-scenes work happens. Every kitty who comes into our rescue passes through the Cottage to be checked in, cared for, and prepared for foster care. It’s also where we do foster check-ins, provide housing for adoptable kitties, coordinate adoptions, and so much more. Honestly, the list goes on and on!
And here’s something we’re incredibly proud of: Catnip Cottage and Whiskers Animal Rescue are 110% volunteer-run. No one takes a paycheck. Every dollar donated and every adoption fee goes right back into caring for the kitties. ❤️
Food, litter, medical care, spay/neuter, supplies, housing—you name it. Your donations directly help us keep doing what we do.

🌈🐾 National Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day 🐾🌈

Today we remember the beloved pets who crossed the Rainbow Bridge, but never truly left our hearts. ❤️

Their paw prints may no longer be beside us, but their love, memories, and the joy they brought into our lives will stay forever.

Today, we honor every wagging tail, gentle purr, wet nose, and loving soul we were lucky enough to know. 🐾💔🌈

Until we meet again… run free, sweet angels. 🌈❤️

Mina... How has this sweet Himalayan girl had zero (true) interest? Yes she is a little special needs -- she was born with atresia ani, an uncommon condition in which she developed without an a**l opening. Her little body created a fistula that went unnoticed by the breeder... Fast forward about 6 months, she'd been adopted to a kind soul who poured thousands of dollars into this girl -- and ultimately she ends up with us. She's received the best of care & reconstructive surgery from The Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center, she has an amazing foster who loves her dearly, and is the absolute sweetest, most docile girl at 9 months.

She mostly uses a litterbox -- she is not perfect, but does the best she can. She needs to be in a home with mostly hard floors, probably no toddlers because of the potential for a random misfire. She is incredible... 99.9% sweetness (100% doesn't exist in the feline world😅), and just a good girl who loves humans and snuggle time.

There is a potential for another surgery down the road as she grows -- but she's barely 4 pounds now, just a petite little thing who will likely always just be small. We don't know what her future holds, but she has so much love to give. $110 adoption fee, application is on our website.

😂 COME ON, PEOPLE… IT ISN’T EVEN A FULL MOON YET! 🌕

Between sick kitties, weird things happening, and the absolute chaos tonight has brought us…we’re starting to wonder if the moon is just running on its own schedule. 🤦‍♀️😂
One minute we’re taking care of a sick kitten, the next we’re dealing with some completely unexpected craziness. Because apparently rescue life decided we weren’t busy enough.

And just a reminder: the full moon isn’t even here yet. 😳🌕

Send coffee. Send prayers. Send snacks.

We’ll take all three. Can't wait to see what the rest of the week holds for us... 🙃🐾

If you feed it, FIX IT. 🐾
Spaying and neutering is one of the most important things we can do to help reduce the number of homeless cats and kittens.
One unspayed female cat and her offspring can be responsible for thousands of cats being born over just a few years. There simply are not enough homes, rescues, fosters, or resources to save them all.
And if you’re feeding a community cat, please remember: feeding alone is not enough. If you are providing food, you are often the person in the best position to help get that cat trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and returned safely through TNR.
We cannot rescue our way out of the overpopulation crisis. We need to prevent the cycle from continuing.
If you feed it, FIX IT. ❤️
Trap. Fix. Return. Repeat.
