✨🐴 Check out this little clip of our lesson horses standing at the gate, waiting for their lesson kids to arrive. Their ears perked, their faces and postures are soft… eyes and noses are scanning for treats 🤣 💛

⏰ Over the past few weeks, we’ve made a few small adjustments at M&R Stables to give our students and horses more time for grooming, bonding, and quietly enjoying the tacking up process. No rushing, no pushing — just intentional time together.

Horses can’t talk to us, but they will do their best to tell us what they need. In this case, we think the results are already showing... Their personalities are softer, sweeter, and more relaxed. ☺️ No chasing lesson horses around the field when it’s time to ride 🐎

Sometimes, a girl just needs a relaxing hoof soak 💅🏻 😴

🐴 One of our jobs around the barn is to make sure the lesson horses are feeling their absolute ✨ best ✨.

A few days ago, Paisley let us know that her left front foot was a little sore. We narrowed it down to a possible hoof abscess, and she stood patiently while we treated her 😇🥰

Don’t worry, she has already made a full recovery! ☺️

🐴 💗 Before hopping in the saddle, our riders spend a few minutes doing ground work to get in tune with their horses and warm up their muscles. It’s all about connection, being a leader, and bonding .

Just look at Katie & Murcie — stepping together in perfect time 💛👣 Such a simple warm‑up, but it makes all the difference once they ride!

💖 It’s Hartford Fair week!

🤗 We’re so proud of every M&R Stables student who is participating — whether you’re showing horses, exhibiting livestock, or taking one of the many creative 4‑H project options. This week celebrates hard work, learning, and the courage to show off what you’ve accomplished.

🍀 We are big supporters of 4-H for kids - taking on a 4‑H project teaches record-keeping, responsibility, confidence, leadership, and the ability to set goals and follow through. Seeing those projects come to life at the fair is the best part!

To all our students: Have fun, do your best, and enjoy every moment of the fair. 💚🐎🌾

⛺️ 🐴 🤗 What a summer at M&R Stables!

Our campers packed every day with 🐴 horse time, learning 📚 , laughter 🤣 , and a whole lot of creativity. They mastered new horse skills, played arena games, and even became detectives to solve The Case of the Missing Horse Shoes. 🕵🏻

🖼️ 🎨 The craft table was a hit: pool‑noodle ponies galloped home, horse shoes got a fresh coat of color, and canvas paintings of beloved camp horses turned into keepsakes.

🤗 We’re so proud of the memories made and the confidence built. 🍁 Fall programs are right around the corner — and we’re already counting down to next year’s camp!
