The Hudson Valley SPCA does NOT receive funds from federal, state or local municipalities. And we are NOT funded by the national organization, the ASPCA. Our work is funded solely by donations from our supporters. When you donate to the Hudson Valley SPCA, you can be sure that your contribution is used wisely. Over 75% of donations go directly to animal care with remaining funds going to support services. The Hudson Valley SPCA is a registered 501 (c) 3 so all of your donations are fully tax deductible. ๐ŸšจIT'S FRIDAY!!!!...You know what time it is!!?? It's time for the $5 Friday Challenge! Can you help us reach 100 $5 donations today??

We know that times are tough and prices are high... we experience the same issues with the cost of our supplies, pet food, vet care, etc..., but you can make a BIG difference with a small donation! Did you know that $25 sponsors 1 pet for an entire month!? So yes, $5 a week does go a long way!! Every penny goes to feed and care for the animals at our shelter.

Now, we'd like to introduce you to 3 of our New Windsor Pets available for adoption:
1- Bentley is a senior man (about 11/12-ish) who loves attention, but not the biggest fan of other cats/dogs. He tolerates them, some what. He really needs a nice quiet home, with no young children, to enjoy his senior years.

2- Ian is a sweet boy and is about 4-5 years old. He loves attention...but, sometimes has issues with other cats, so he would probably be better off as an only cat, or with a cat that is layed back, calm and not confrontational.

3- Lenny- Seriously, look at those ears! This hound mix is a talker, and he makes sure you know when you're getting closer to him. Outside of the kennel though, he can get a little shy. He would love a home where he can slowly find his confidence and become your best walking buddy. We know he enjoys a good sniffing walk! He's about 4 years old and is looking for a calm home where he can thrive at his own pace.

Stop by the New Windsor location to meet them between 12-4pm any day of the week (except Wednesday's, we are closed to the public).

We have another sweet older dog hoping for a comfy forever home: Meet Remy! ๐Ÿฅฐ

Remy is about 7 years old and a German Shepherd mix. She was a stray, so her history is a mystery. One of our regular volunteers took her out recently and reported on how wonderful she is:

"She has a very mature, easygoing demeanor and walks beautifully on a leash without pulling. She would make an excellent companion for someone who enjoys daily walks and outdoor time but isnโ€™t looking for a high-energy dog that needs constant exercise. During our walk, a few reactive dogs passed by barking, and she remained calm and completely unfazed. She has a sweet personality, loves treats, and takes them very gently. She was an absolute pleasure to spend time with and made our walk enjoyable from start to finish." ๐Ÿ’š

Zinnia came to us as a single kitten and was immediately a sweet, cuddly girl. Luckily her wait for a forever home was brief! They sent us these adorable pictures and a message:

"Zinnia is settling in very well. She is the sweetest kitten I've ever had. As you know she's very talkative and I'm learning she's also very outgoing. She loves to greet everyone who visits us and then will have a long conversation with them. Thank you for all you do to help these animals!" โœ‰๏ธ
