🐾 Meet Wallace, affectionately called Wall-E! ❤️
Rescued from Devore Shelter in California, this approximately 2-year-old boy is now being fostered in Mechanicville, NY, where his sweet personality is beginning to shine.
Wallace is gaining much-needed weight, coming out of his shell, and discovering toys. He’s a cuddly boy who loves being close to his people. He’s settling in with the other dogs in his foster home and has shown no concern around the cats. He’s also learning to use the doggy door and doing well with pottying outside, though he still has occasional accidents.
His veterinarian has described his neurological condition as cerebral palsy. Wallace has difficulty with balance and coordination and can topple over or fall off elevated surfaces. He can manage a few porch steps, but a home with minimal stairs would be the best fit. Larger staircases need to be securely blocked off to keep him safe.
Wallace also needs a patient family willing to help him build confidence and continue positive training. He has shown some guarding behavior and is learning to take treats gently. His foster is introducing muzzle training, which his future family should be comfortable continuing, while allowing him plenty of time to settle in.
Wall-E has made wonderful progress and has so much love to give. He’s looking for someone who understands his needs, keeps him safe, and celebrates each little victory alongside him. ❤️
