Mozey is a sweet young boy currently at the Fort Worth Shelter in Texas who is limping, unable to walk properly, and clearly in pain. He needs medical attention urgently.

We are actively working to get Mozey picked up and transported to Family Pet Care in Texas so he can be examined and treated by our trusted veterinarian. As everyone knows, we always do everything we can for the dogs in our care — and Mozey is no exception.

🚨 EMERGENCY – FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED 🚨
Special Needs Dogs – Boarding Ending Friday

We are being asked to help in an urgent situation.

⚠️ These are NOT currently dogs in our rescue, however if the right, committed home or foster is found, we will step up and take them on.

We are being told both dogs are currently in boarding in Arkansas and will be kicked out this Friday. Time is extremely limited.

These are special needs dogs, but ALL necessary equipment (wheelchairs, supplies, etc.) will be provided.

🐾 Ziggy 2

Approx. 1.5 years old | Chocolate Lab Mix

Ziggy 2 is a happy, outgoing young boy who absolutely loves life despite everything he has been through.

He was picked up as a stray by Dallas Animal Services and, due to his severe medical condition, was placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, he was saved in November 2024.

According to two separate veterinarians, Ziggy’s condition was most likely caused by human intervention during a traumatic birth. His hind legs were left completely straight with no ability to bend at the knees or hocks, and his spine was twisted in the lumbar region.

After extensive veterinary consultation, it was determined that partial amputation would give Ziggy the best quality of life. His surgeries began on December 2, 2024, followed by months of rehabilitation and hospice care at the vet until March 4, 2025.

Ziggy is not incontinent, but he is not house-trained.
He does well in his wheelchair and is a joyful, resilient dog who deserves a chance at a real home.

🐾 Spencer

Approx. 4–5 years old | Staffordshire Mix

Spencer is a gentle, shy soul who warms up with kindness and affection.

In November 2024, Spencer was shot and, despite his injuries, dragged himself down the road in Arkansas until someone finally helped him. He was brought to rescuers by Good Samaritans who refused to leave him behind.

Spencer is incontinent due to a gunshot injury to his spinal cord, and the bullet remains lodged between two ribs. He was evaluated by multiple veterinarians, including Texas A&M, where surgery was ultimately deemed not possible.

Since then, Spencer has been receiving hospice-style care. He is stable, comfortable, and deserves dignity, safety, and love after surviving unimaginable cruelty.

Meet Lizzie 💗

Lizzie is the sweetest little girl who began her journey in Dallas, TX, where she was lovingly fostered by Shelly. She has since made her way north and is now being fostered in West Newbury, MA with Dee.

Sweet Lizzie is a petite girl with a heart of gold, estimated to be around 2 years old. She is incredibly gentle, affectionate, and truly loves people. Lizzie is the kind of dog who just wants to be near you and soak up all the love she’s been missing.

While Lizzie can coexist with other dogs with proper introductions, she would do best as the only dog in the home, where she can have all the attention and form a deep bond with her person.

Today, we’re happy to report that Luisa has officially left the shelter and is now on her way to Acton, California, where she will remain safe in boarding until her next transport to the Northeast. 🐾✨

Bagel… yes, that’s the name the shelter gave him 🤦‍♀️ but we promise his story matters far more than his name.

Bagel was euthanasia-listed at a California shelter 💔
Thankfully, he is now safe and currently in boarding in Acton, California, where he is waiting for the next transport to the Northeast.

What we know about Bagel:
• Estimated to be 3–4 years old
• Very sweet boy
• Likely lived outdoors — his ear shows signs consistent with fly bites
• Good with other dogs, with proper decompression and slow introductions
• A dog who truly deserves patience, understanding, and love

Like all rescue dogs, decompression is key. Bagel needs a home (or foster) that understands he’s been through a lot and will give him the time and space to settle in and feel safe. The reward? A loyal, loving companion who just wants a chance.
