Followers, I wish I had a better picture, but I don’t. The video shows a dog lying in 93+ degree heat with no air conditioning. I asked Melissa to check in, and she shared that there are three German Shepherds kenneled together. I cannot in good conscience take one and not the others. We’re working hard to get them out because they’re urgent, and it’s heartbreaking—there have already been heat-related deaths in similar situations.

Right now, all three appear to be female. We did not plan to take in three at once, but here we are, and they need our help.

We are desperate to raise funds to cover boarding and transport from California. The dogs are currently in Riverside Shelter.

Meet Alvaro, a gentle 2–3 year old who’s being fostered in Manchester, CT. Alvaro’s journey started at Palm Valley Animal Shelter in Edinburg, TX, where he spent nearly a year waiting for a family. His foster mom describes him as a wonderful, good-natured dog who gets along beautifully with other dogs. Because he’s a big boy, a home without young kids is preferred.

🌟✨ Meet Kong, the happiest little pocket Dutch Shepherd looking for his FOSTER home! 🐾❤️

With a big heart and a playful spirit, this 50 lb bundle of joy is almost 2 years old and is ready to bring endless smiles to your life! 🥳 After spending more than half of his life in a shelter, Kong is currently in a temporary foster home in Queens, NY. Sadly, his previous foster is facing unforeseen medical challenges, and Kong needs your help!

Kong loves humans and dogs alike, and he's SUPER SMART! 🎓 He would do best with a balanced male dog his own size or larger that he can learn from, like a big brother or a balanced pack of 2-3 dogs. He’s been busy perfecting his leash manners and obedience training, and he’s already house-trained. Sweet Sweet Deena! 🐾

Deena spent nearly a year at Palm Valley Animal Shelter in Edinburgh, Texas and is now thriving with her foster family in Hackettstown, NY. She’s about 2 years old and a petite little sweetheart who adores people and gets along great with other dogs. She’s not a fan of squirrels, so a home with fewer outdoor wildlife moments may be ideal.

Dallas Animal Services does not care. Let me repeat: DAS does not care; they will find any excuse to kill a dog- In this case Carissa who I was just asked by the shelter volunteer to help- She is already on the schedule to be euthanized tomorrow - We are working hard to find a place to go for a little while, She is also HW positive. What a wonderful update on one of our dogs, Cooper!

We rescued him from Contra Costa Shelter in California; back then his name was Cayden. He spent some time with his foster, Jared, in Albany, NY, before being adopted by a wonderful family.

Thank you to Jared for opening his home to foster so many dogs and for setting them up for success, and to everyone involved—the adopters who opened their hearts and home. Your kindness truly changes lives.

Urgent plea for Finn – sweet boy in need of a foster or adopter

We are helping a very kind owner in Saugerties, NY, who is sadly very ill and nearing hospice care. Her beloved dog Finn needs a safe place to land soon. He’s under a year old, has some basic obedience, and is people-friendly and dog-friendly. We do not have information on his cat compatibility.

If you can open your heart and home, please consider fostering or adopting Finn. The owner is asking for our help to place him with someone who will love him as she does.

Sadly, we’ve lost Ozzy due to pneumonia. Ozzy survived Dallas Animal Services and was loved by his foster family, Michelle and Ernie. We know how hard this is for them, as they have cared for him with unwavering love. This morning, the vet shared that things had taken a turn for the worse. Michelle and Ernie rushed to Family Pet Care to be with him as he was set free from suffering—one of the hardest decisions we have to make in rescue. We can’t believe we’ve lost another one, especially such a young puppy. Michelle and Ernie, thank you for all your love and care—Ozzy will never forget you. RIP Ozzy.

Meet Road — a sweet Anatolian Mix and a true big teddy bear. This lovely guy had a leg injury that’s healed and he’s 100% ready for a loving home. Road is people- and dog-friendly, and his gentle personality shines with everyone he meets. Due to his size, he’s best suited for homes without young kids; cats are not known/tested with him yet.
