Not the news we wanted to hear when the vet called. Milo declined very fast and passed away. We really hoped for a better outcome that’s the hard reality of rescue. Milo was dumped in a rural area in Texas, alone, starved, with little chance of survival. When Jess saw him, she asked if I could take him into the rescue, and I said YES.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t the outcome we wanted. He was fine until he wasn’t that’s how quickly Distemper can progress. I’ll forever be grateful to Jess for finding him and taking him home. He didn’t die a horrible death on the streets he had vet care, but sadly that wasn’t enough.

RIP Milo. We love you forever and will remember you as a happy pup.

When we took Sophie and Darcy, not pictured here, from the streets in Texas, we had no idea they were pregnant and close to having puppies. Luckily, our amazing fosters in West Hurley, NY took both mamas in, and now the puppies are at an age to be adopted. The other four are still awaiting pictures, but these are the ones we currently have:

Mirabella is about 8 weeks old
Pepa, Louisa, and Isabella are about 6.5 weeks old. We believe their mom is a corgi mix, but we aren’t sure, so we are awaiting DNA results. These pups will be small, perhaps 15 to 20 lbs max

Thelma White Lab/Pyr and Louise (believed to be her puppy) were found as strays and are very attached to each other. We won’t separate them. Thelma is about 2 years old ; Louise about 6 months old. They’re making their way to Saugerties, NY. Both are incredibly sweet and good with dogs. Cats are not yet known.

Guys, Milo is being admitted at Harlingen Urgent Vet in TX. They believe he may have Distemper. 😩😢

We rescued Milo from the horrid streets of Texas, and he’s been doing okay until today. We’ve rushed his tests and are hoping for a positive outcome. We urgently need your help—the cost for just 3 days is over $2,000, and he may need to stay longer. We’re giving him a fighting chance and would deeply appreciate your prayers and support.
