🖤🐾 Happy Howl-O-Ween from Remember to Paws! 🎃🕯️

Halloween is a time when the veil between worlds is said to be at its thinnest. A night when the spirits of those we love feel just a little closer.

And we like to believe that includes our pets.

Tonight, light a candle, share a favorite memory, or leave a little treat out for a furry soul you wish you could hold one more time.

Some spirits don’t haunt us. They walk beside us. 🖤

Jenna and I are wishing you a Halloween filled with beautiful memories, a little magic, and the comforting thought that our beloved pets are never truly far away.

🌙🐾 Forever loved. Forever remembered.

💔 Another goodbye we weren’t ready for.

This morning, Villalobos Rescue Center - Life 4 Paws, Inc. lost another special soul. Sweet Atkins lost his battle with diabetes, leaving behind a whole lot of love and some very broken hearts.

But today, our hearts are especially heavy for Villalobos Rescue Center founder, Tia Maria Torres of Pit Bulls & Parolees.

For years, Atkins had been one of her on-and-off roommates. He wasn’t just another dog at the rescue. He was part of her home, her daily routines, and her life. And that’s a different kind of loss.

Tia has spent so much of her life loving, fighting for, and saying goodbye to dogs that the rest of the world may have forgotten. But no matter how many times she goes through it, the heartbreak doesn’t get any easier.

People see the strength it takes to do what she does. What they don’t always see is the grief that comes with it and the weight of losing another soul who was part of her world. Just because someone is used to loss doesn’t mean it hurts any less.

At Remember to Paws, we know grief isn’t measured by how many goodbyes you’ve already survived. Every bond is different. Every loss takes something with it.

Today, we grieve Atkins, but we also hold space for Tia and the heartbreak of having to say goodbye to one of her boys yet again.

Rest peacefully, sweet Atkins.

Our hearts are with you, Tia.

With love,
Jenna & Katie

🌼🐾 𝐃𝐢́𝐚 𝐝𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐬 𝐌𝐮𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐨𝐬 𝐏𝐞𝐭 𝐎𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚 🕯️

Our pets may no longer be by our side, but they will always have a place in our hearts.

This Día de los Mu***os, create a special ofrenda to honor the pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. 🌈

Add their photo, favorite toys, collar, treats, a candle, and anything that reminds you of them.

A beautiful way to remember the love they gave us and keep their memory alive. 🖤

There is something so special about the bond we share with our soul pet.

They were our comfort, our safe place, and the one who somehow always knew exactly what we needed, even when we didn’t have the words.
Losing that kind of love can leave an emptiness that’s hard to explain.

If you’re missing your soul pet today, be gentle with yourself. You don’t have to be okay every day. You don’t have to stop missing them, and you certainly don’t have to let go of the love you shared.

The bond you had was real, the love was unconditional, and nothing can take away the life you shared together.

At Remember to Paws, we hope we can help you find comfort in knowing that even though they’re no longer by your side, they will always be a part of your story. 🤍

Jenna is missing her soul dog Adam today, who are you missing?

🕯️If all you did today was miss them, that’s okay.

Some days, the memories bring smiles. Other days, the silence feels a little heavier.

You don’t have to be strong every day, and you don’t have to rush your grief.

Missing them is part of loving them, and that love never expires. ❤️

🐾🤍 WHAT TO SAY WHEN SOMEONE LOSES A PET

When someone loses a pet, it can be hard to know what to say.

Their pet was not “just an animal.” They were family, a best friend, and part of everyday life.

✅What you can say:

* “I’m so sorry. I know how much they meant to you.”
* “I’m here for you.”
* “I’d love to hear your favorite memory of them.”
* “You gave them a beautiful life.”
* “Their life mattered.”
* “Tell me about them.”

🚫 What not to say:

* “It was just a pet.”
* “You can always get another one.”
* “At least they lived a long life.”
* “You need to move on.”
* “It was probably for the best.”
* “I know exactly how you feel.”

Even if you mean well, these words can make someone feel like their grief does not matter.

You do not need to fix their sadness. Just listen, remember their pet’s name, and let them talk.

Sometimes, simply saying “I’m here” means the most.

At Remember to Paws, we believe every pet’s life deserves to be remembered, and every grieving heart deserves compassion. 🐾🤍
