Happy Halloween!

Here are some things to consider:

1. Only include your dog if you know your dog will thoroughly enjoy it. (Remember, many dogs will be overwhelmed by this sort of holiday.)

2. Avoid putting costumes on your dog if it's going to make them uncomfortable. (Feeling uncomfortable in a costume could be a stressor at a time where many other stressors may appear.)

3. Consider sitting outside to pass out candy while leaving your dog inside with something to occupy them. Many dogs aren't fans of strangers appearing. On a day like today, it could be very overwhelming to see so many strangers, especially in costumes.

4. Watch for signs of stress. If your dog is panting, yawning, turning away from people, licking their lips or actively avoiding being touched, you'll want to get them back to a comfortable place.

5. Keep candy completely out of reach. It's probably a safe assumption that candy tastes good to dogs as well.
