Meet Hubig Pie. Hubig came to us in November of last year from our friends at Trap Dat Cat. This sweet little boy was trapped by TDC as a kitten during their massive efforts to reduce the cat overpopulation problem in the City.

Hubig appeared to be ready to live in a home and not on the streets, so he came into our program. Hubig was lucky enough to score an amazing foster home. They sent us these pics and write up!

"I don’t know which one is sweeter? Cat or pie? It’s a close call but the cat wins by a whisker. This young boy is mild mannered , gentle, curious and is a purr machine.

Hubig adapted within days to his new environment. His curiosity would bring him out from under the bed when he would hear you call his name. He absolutely adores being pet. It seems head scratches are the number one for this lil guy and he will sit up on 2 feet and reach up with his paws to guide you back! Butt scratches are another favorite but to my surprise his favorite scratches are belly rubs. I have never met a cat who after demanding belly rub DOESN’T end the session with violent bunny kicks and bites. Well this angel cat just rolls over and waits for more .

Introducing Hubig to the three dogs and cat in the home was as easy as … yep you guessed it pie.

If you’re looking for a young playful kitty who loves his toys, pets and who has the gentlest demeanor ( not once a love bite ) of any cat I have previously encountered. A soft spoken lil guy who lives in harmony with others big or small this boy might be for you."

Meet Boss—the only Boss you’ll actually *want* to work for!

This 3-year-old Boston Terrier may be small, but he runs a tight operation:

Daily cuddle quotas must be met.
Walk breaks are mandatory.
Loyalty and playtime are non-negotiable.
And yes…he fully supports “work from sofa” policies.

Boss is affectionate, loyal, and playful. He’s gentle with people, loves spending quality time with his humans, and already knows his basic commands (so you won’t have to micromanage him).

Right now, he’s stuck in a kennel, and honestly? The Boss deserves an office with a couch, a lap, and maybe a few squeaky toys.

Ready to make Boss your new CEO of Love & Snuggles? Apply today at www.zeusrescues.org. Thanks. Michelle

Meet DoodleBob.

This 1.5 year old Doodle? Poodle? Snoodle? came into our program as a stray. Efforts to find his owner have been unsuccessful and now he is now ready to start the next chapter of his life.

When he came to us, he was severely matted and covered in fleas. We suspect that he will have longer hair. It is hard to tell because he was in really rough shape and much love to the ZP groomers for cleaning him up!

DoodleBob is a joyous little boy and loves to romp around and play. At about 25 pounds, he will easily pass most landlord weight restrictions.

If you are interested in adopting DoodleBob, please complete the online application at www.zeusrescues.org. Thanks! Michelle

Introducing: The Chewbacca Terrier™ A rare, never-before-seen designer breed discovered right here at Zeus’ Rescues.

Meet Teddy—3 years old, scruffy in all the right ways, and guaranteed to make Wookiee noises when he yawns. (Okay, maybe not guaranteed, but it feels right.)

Teddy came to us a couple weeks ago from a local shelter and somehow hasn’t been snatched up yet.

Which is wild, because this pint-sized Chewie comes fully loaded:
Perfect portable size
Loves other dogs (a real pack animal)
Walks like a pro on a leash (no hyperdrive required)
Vaccinated, neutered, microchipped
Will honestly tell you if those jeans make you look more Han Solo or more Jabba the Hutt—always kindly, of course.

This is the companion you’re looking for.

Apply now at www.zeusrescues.org. Thanks! Michelle

URGENT: MEDIUM & LARGE DOG FOSTERS NEEDED

We were already stretched beyond capacity, but the recent wave of dogs being dumped in our front yard or tied to our fence has made things truly unmanageable. We simply have no room. Actually, we had no room before the last couple of dogs were dumped and now we are having to be creative as to where we can fit dogs in the building.

Take this sweet pittie, left tied outside our fence this morning. Her body tells the story: countless litters, and too many bite wounds on her head to even count—some old, some fresh. These kinds of injuries are heartbreakingly common in bait dogs.

She didn’t ask to be born, to be bred over and over, or to be forced into fighting. She’s gentle, scared, and deserving of safety. And while I wish I had the space and resources to take her in without hesitation, the truth is that we’re at the breaking point.

Here’s the reality: if just a couple of people step up to foster dogs over 50 pounds, we can make room for her. It would allow us to move recently dumped dogs out of boarding and into the rescue building for the Labor Day holiday.

PLEASE, if you can foster, come by the rescue building. If you don’t already have an application on file, you’ll need one approved before fostering. We have all different breeds and dog personalities available, from couch potato to jogging partner. We provide all supplies—you just provide the space and love.

Meet Bubba (aka Fresco)! 🐾 This 2–3-year-old sweetheart spent most of his young life in a shelter, but since moving into a foster home, his personality has truly started to shine.

Bubba is as cute as they come, with soulful dark eyes that will melt your heart the moment he looks at you. He’s an easy-going companion who loves nothing more than cuddling on the couch for a TV marathon, following you around while you do chores, or simply lounging in his bed with a toy. Bubba is crate trained, treat motivated, and has no separation anxiety when left alone.

He’s friendly with other dogs and learning how to initiate play—once another pup invites him, he joins right in! He’s also been building confidence on leash walks, bravely making it a few blocks at a time with encouragement.

Gentle, sweet with everyone he meets, and always ready to give love, Bubba is the kind of dog who will quickly become the heart of your home.

If you are interested in Bubba, please complete the online application at www.zeusrescues.org. Thanks! Michelle

Muses Kitten Surprise Alert! Transition Fosters Needed!!!

Remember those two adorable kittens I pulled out of the Krewe of Muses den a couple weeks ago? Well… plot twist! Turns out there were four more hiding out. Yep, six kittens total. Either they were wedged way deeper under that storage container than I could see, or mom snuck them in after I scooped the first two.

But wait—there’s more! I also managed to trap their momma, making it a full-on family reunion… with a twist.

See, two days after being trapped, Mom noped out of the whole parenting gig. She stopped nursing and gave us a firm “not my problem.” Thankfully, some stellar fosters jumped in to keep the kitten float rolling. Mom’s now spayed and, once she heals, she’ll head back to my managed colony to live her best, drama-free life.

Meanwhile, the kittens are thriving—transitioning to solid food like tiny, messy champs. But they shouldn’t be left alone in the rescue building all day, so we’re looking for a couple of awesome transition fosters to take them for the next week or so.

If you’ve got a little time, a little space, and wouldn’t mind being stalked by 8 ounces of fluff who think they’re lion-sized, this is your moment. Bonus points if your house has dust bunnies in need of a takedown.

Email [email protected] if you're in! All supplies provided. Thanks a million! Michelle

The bags are packed. The dorm room is decorated. The child you raised with your whole heart has left the nest… and now?

You sit alone. Staring at their empty bedroom.
Wondering… who will need me now?

WE HAVE YOUR ANSWER.
Adopt or foster a rescue pet.

These loyal, non-college-bound companions will:
Never deactivate location sharing
Text you (ok, bark at you) just to say “I love you”
Not ask for rent money, meal swipes, or suspicious Venmo transfers
Let you sob while tucking them in, no questions asked

Forget the empty nest. Let’s make it a furry, snuggly, totally extra nest.

Apply to foster or adopt at zeusrescues.org before you spiral into watching their baby videos on loop.

With dramatic flair and fur-covered love (because I have been there). Michelle

Meet Poppy.

Back in May, after we had closed for the day, someone heartlessly tossed this 2-year-old girl over our rescue fence. Thankfully, our neighbors spotted her and got our attention so we could bring her to safety.

Once she was safe, we watched the surveillance footage to see what happened. We saw her hit the ground, then scramble to get up to to follow the people who left her behind. It was gut-wrenching.

Even in those first traumatic moments, Poppy showed us who she really is—resilient, loving, and full of heart. After getting the vet care she needed, she landed in one of our best foster homes, where she’s absolutely thriving.

Here’s what her foster had to say:

"Poppy is a 2-year-old, 37-pound bundle of love and muscle! She’s incredibly sweet and deserves a forever home that will treat her the way she should’ve been treated all along.

She gets along great with kids, other dogs, and even cats. She’s crate trained, house trained, and currently sleeps in a dog bed by our bed—but she'd be overjoyed if invited under the covers!

Poppy walks nicely on a leash, rarely barks, and loves belly rubs, cuddles, and squeaky toys. Her expressive ears tell you exactly how she’s feeling. She’s a total catch."

If you’re ready to give this girl the forever home she deserves, please fill out an application at www.zeusrescues.org.
Thanks! Michelle
