It's true! Frogs absorb water through their skin!!!🐸 Unlike humans, frogs do not drink water with their mouths, they absorb it through a specialized area on their skin called the "drinking patch", typically located on their belly and the underside of their thighs. Although this sounds cool, there is a downside to having permeable skin. It puts frogs at great risk of absorbing pollutants that are in the water and air. They can also get easily dehydrated if they’re away from water for too long.🥵

Not all dogs are natural swimmers, and even strong swimmers can tire or panic in the water. Always supervise your pup around the pool, even if they seem to know how to swim. Provide a properly fitted life jacket for your dog, especially if they're not strong swimmers or are going on a boat. Teach your dog how to get in and out of the pool safely, demonstrating how to use the steps or a ramp. Limit your dog's pool time to avoid exhaustion, and provide breaks in the shade. Ensure access to fresh drinking water to prevent them from drinking too much chlorinated pool water. Rinse your dog thoroughly after swimming to remove chlorine and other chemicals that could irritate their skin and eyes. Never leave your dog unattended near the pool. Consider installing a pool fence or using a pool alarm to prevent accidental falls. By following these simple guidelines, you can help ensure your canine companion enjoys a safe and refreshing swim! 🐶🏊‍♂️☀️
