⭐️ HOW TO HANDLE WINTER AFTER YOUR LAST SHOW OF THE SEASON

Whether you finished the year on a high or limped out of that last class wondering what happened, winter is here and it is your chance to get your head straight. ❄️🐴

If you ended the season on top: 🏆

Good. Celebrate it. Feel proud. Then cut the ego before it cuts your progress.
Winning can make people lazy, distracted, and overly confident if they are not careful.
The season is over. The slate is clean.
You are not entitled to repeat success just because you had a good day once.

So here is the move:
• Review what actually worked. Do not exaggerate it.
• Keep your routines. Champions get soft when they stop doing the basics.
• Stay curious. Ask for feedback. Study your rides.
• Set new goals immediately. Momentum only stays if you keep pushing it.
• Remember that the work you do this winter is the work everyone else will feel next season.

If you ended the season with a disaster: 🔥

One awful show does not define you unless you freeze in place and stew in it.

Here is how you bounce back instead of spiraling:
• Take a breath and tell the truth about what went wrong.
• Separate emotion from facts.
• Identify what was in your control and what was not.
• Give yourself a short break if you need it, but make it intentional.
• Come back with a simple plan. Rebuild strength, rebuild confidence, rebuild timing.

A bad ride is a data point, not your identity.

For both winners and wrecks: ❄️💪

Winter is your reset. Do not waste it.
Your future results are being built right now.
What you practice, how you take care of your body, how you prepare your horse, and how you talk to yourself during the off season will show up next spring when nothing can save you but your preparation.

Bottom line:
Do not disappear. Do not coast. Do not sulk.
Use these months to sharpen yourself, steady yourself, and step into next season with intention.

Save this. Share it. And decide who you are going to be when the gate opens again.

🌟 Cascade Stables had an incredible week at the UPHA American Royal National Championships! 🌟
From exciting new debuts to standout performances from our seasoned teams—and even a few impressive catch rides and drives—it was a memorable week for everyone.
👏 A huge thank you to Rebekah Shelnutt for two outstanding catch drives with Tear It Up “Freddie” in his amateur debut:
Amateur Roadster to Bike Champion
Reserve National Champion (with a first-place vote!)
🔥 Radioactive made a powerful entrance in his show ring debut, earning UPHA Roadster to Bike Classic Reserve National Champion for Sunrise Stables LLC.
✨ Juliette Singer made a fantastic Kansas City debut, bringing home the UPHA Exceptional Challenge Cup Assistance Level 4 National Championship.
🏆 Christopher Molony delivered back-to-back wins as the UPHA Exceptional Challenge Cup Level 1 National Champion.
🐴 Huge congrats to Selena Henry and Evangeline Wendt!
Selena did an amazing job guiding I Know Who I Am through her first juvenile five-gaited class, and Evangeline delivered an outstanding ride on Absolutely A Prince after just one practice in the 14-15 equitation age group. Way to go, girls! 🎉
And we’re not done yet! With Emerson Keely trying out for the United States Saddle Seat Association World Cup Team in Fulton, Missouri this coming weekend—and the TASHA Holiday Horse Show still ahead to wrap up our 2025 season—there’s plenty more excitement to come.
💙 Congratulations to all our riders, drivers, owners, and supporters! What a week!

Each year at the UPHA American Royal, the Young Professionals host a fun and spirited fundraiser — and we’re thrilled to announce that Scooter has once again graciously agreed to participate!
This year’s challenge is The Royal Wipeout, an inflatable obstacle course guaranteed to bring plenty of laughs (and maybe a few tumbles). Joining Scooter on Team “Run Like the Winded” are Cascade riders Selena Henry and Evangeline Wendt!
Their team needs your support! 💙
Every donation helps them climb the leaderboard and could make them this year’s top fundraisers.
Let’s cheer them on and help “Run Like the Winded” sprint their way to victory! 🏆 Donation link in comments

💫 What a whirlwind it’s been — from summer’s end to fall’s beginning! Between Louisville, our first time attending Monarch, and St. Louis, we’ve been on the go and loving every minute. Only a few shows left in 2025, and we’re not slowing down yet! 💙🩶
