A soldier’s wish brought him to safety. Now he needs a loving family to bring him home.
Adoption open to any loving family.

Meeka is a 10-month-old Canaan pup rescued through Paws of War’s War Torn Pups and Cats program. His soldier refused to leave him behind, but due to military duties, was unable to keep him. Their only wish is for Meeka to have the safe, happy life he deserves with a family who will love him as much as they did.

Now safe in America, Meeka is ready for his forever home. He is gentle and affectionate, shy at first, but once he trusts you, he lights up with joy. He loves people, enjoys playtime, and has a heart full of love waiting for the right family.

If you would like to give Meeka the life his soldier dreamed of for him, please apply here:

An Army Soldier Fought For a Kitten’s Life. Now, That Kitten Is Thriving Against All Odds.

Six newborn kittens came into the world beneath a building near a U.S. Army base in the scorching Middle Eastern sand. A wild animal attack tore through the area, scattering the litter. Their mother fled with four babies, but two were left behind: Peamer and her brother, Rocket.

They were barely alive. Too weak to lift their heads. Their tiny bodies fading by the hour. Rocket struggled to breathe as he battled aspiration pneumonia.

A U.S. Army Major refused to let that be their ending. She reached out to Paws of War for help, knowing they were living on borrowed time.

Our team mobilized immediately, traveling 16 hours through dangerous terrain with a veterinary nurse, medical equipment, and fortified formula to keep them alive.

We fought for both lives, but Rocket did not make it. His tiny body could not recover. Peamer was devastated without her brother, but she kept fighting.

Now safe in the U.S., she is getting stronger every day. Affectionate, courageous, confident, playful, and astonishingly smart, Peamer gives love as fiercely as she fought to survive.
Her soldier’s only wish is for Peamer to grow up safe and loved in a forever home while she continues serving overseas.

Today is the last day to vote.
We need your help.

Just two minutes of your time can change lives.

Paws of War has been selected for Teachers Federal Credit Union’s Season of Giving, and how much we receive depends entirely on the number of votes we earn.

Teachers is donating $50,000 to three nonprofits. First place receives $25,000, second receives $15,000, and third receives $10,000. Every vote directly strengthens our mission to support veterans, first responders, and the animals who stand by their side.

Today is your final chance to help push us to the top.
Scan the QR code on the flyer or visit teachersfcu.org/seasonofgiving to cast your vote.

Thank you to Teachers Federal Credit Union for including us in this meaningful initiative.

As we paused to remember the anniversary of Pearl Harbor, we reflected on the moment that changed the course of history and set countless young Americans on the path to service. One of those young men was David Palmer, now a 100-year-old Army veteran and proud member of the American Legion in Islip, who answered the call to serve in World War II after our nation was attacked.

We were honored to recognize David at the remembrance ceremony held at the American Airpower Museum, where he was surprised with the incredible honor of performing the Pearl Harbor rose drop. Watching him take part in this deeply meaningful tribute, decades after the war that shaped his generation, moved everyone in attendance.

Paws of War presented David with a WWII commemorative coin and a Paws of War challenge coin to acknowledge his century of courage, service, and devotion to our country. David also spent some quality time with one of our Paws of War service pups.

We extend heartfelt gratitude to Kathleen Honrine, Paws of War Mission Advocate, whose unwavering dedication to extending the mission behind Paws of War continues to change lives for both people and animals. Her commitment made our involvement possible in such a meaningful way.
We also thank Ken Levre for assisting in coordinating our participation and helping honor David with the recognition he deserves.

As we remember Pearl Harbor, we honor the heroes who served in its aftermath, including veterans like David who stepped forward in our nation’s time of need.

We will always remember.

Thank you to News 12 for helping share the stories behind our Home for the Holidays mission and the brave dogs in our War Torn Pups and Cats program.

These animals were found overseas by U.S. service members who protected them and reached out to Paws of War with one hope: that their rescued dogs would make it safely to America and have the loving future they deserve.

Many are now here and beginning new lives, but there are still more animals waiting overseas and more deployed soldiers asking us for help today.

If you want to make a real impact this holiday season, please help us grant the wishes of U.S. soldiers and bring their rescued animals to safety.

ADOPT MOTCHA: We are granting the wish of a U.S. soldier who hoped Motcha would one day know the safety and love of a real home.
Adoption open to any loving family

Motcha was found overseas by a group of U.S. soldiers who discovered her living in harsh, dangerous conditions, far too young to face the world on her own. With her tiny spotted nose, her striking black mask, and her gentle, trusting eyes, she quickly became a bright spot in the middle of a very difficult environment. The soldiers did everything they could to protect her, knowing that without help, she wouldn’t make it.

They reached out to Paws of War with one urgent request: save her. Give her a chance. Make sure this little pup would never again have to fight for her life

Motcha held on through everything, And now she has finally made it safely to America. She is friendly, playful, and full of joy. She has her whole life ahead of her and is ready to spend it with a family who will love her as deeply as she will love them.

By adopting Motcha, you won’t just be giving a deserving dog a forever home, you’ll be fulfilling the heartfelt wish of the soldiers who stood by her when she had no one else.
