There is something truly special about a community coming together to support those who have sacrificed so much for our country and the animals who stand beside them.

A heartfelt thank you to True Reckoning Motorcycle Club for hosting an incredible event benefiting Paws of War. 🏍️

Held at Miller's Ale House, the event brought together compassionate supporters, veterans, first responders, bikers, and friends of our mission for an unforgettable day of generosity and camaraderie. Through the 50/50 raffle, basket raffles, and the kindness of everyone who attended, critical funds were raised to help us continue providing lifesaving services to veterans, active-duty military members, first responders, and the animals they love.

Every dollar raised helps create life-changing moments: a veteran receiving a service dog, a military hero being reunited with a beloved animal rescued overseas, or a family finding comfort and healing through the bond of a loyal companion.

To the members of True Reckoning Motorcycle Club, thank you for your hard work, dedication, and unwavering support of our mission. And to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, and purchased raffle tickets, thank you for standing with us and helping us continue helping both ends of the leash.

Together, we are changing lives. ❤️🐾

Today, we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering determination of the brave men who stormed the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944.

On D-Day, thousands of Allied troops faced unimaginable danger in the fight to defend freedom. Many never made it home, but their courage changed the course of history and helped secure the freedoms we enjoy today.

As we mark the 82nd anniversary of D-Day, we honor the heroes who answered the call, remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and express our deepest gratitude to the generations of service members who have followed in their footsteps.

Their legacy lives on.

We will never forget.

A huge thank you to TLC Auto and Truck Center for hosting the amazing Coffee and Canines fundraiser in support of Paws of War! 🐾

We are incredibly grateful to Joe, Katie, and their entire staff for all of the hard work, time, and dedication that went into making this event such a success. Thanks to their generosity, 100% of the proceeds from the day went directly to helping the active military, veterans, first responders, and animals we serve.

From the food and coffee truck to the music, basket raffles, and children’s activities, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Most importantly, the event brought together an incredible community of supporters all rallying behind our mission.

Thank you to everyone who came out with their dogs, donated, participated, and showed their support throughout the day. And a very special thank you to our amazing volunteers who helped everything run smoothly from start to finish❤️🐶

The engines may have gone quiet, but the impact of this incredible day is still being felt.

Our Annual Paws of War Car Show brought together an amazing community of supporters, car enthusiasts, veterans, active-duty military members, first responders, families, and animal lovers, all united by one mission.

From the incredible vehicles on display to the smiles, conversations, music, and generosity shared throughout the day, every moment was a reminder of what can happen when people come together to support a cause they believe in.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, sponsored, entered a vehicle, purchased raffle tickets, donated, or helped spread the word. Because of you, Paws of War can continue providing life-changing services to veterans, active-duty military members, first responders, and the animals they love.

A special thank you to our dedicated volunteers, sponsors, community partners, The Fabulous 50's & 60's Nostalgia Car Club Long Island, DJ Steve, the Martini Garden Band, the Town of Smithtown, and Paws of War advocate and Car Show Organizer Raymond Meyer, whose hard work and dedication helped make this event such a tremendous success.

We were honored to welcome Legislator Leslie Kennedy, Suffolk County Comptroller John Kennedy, Suffolk County Clerk Vincent Puleo, and Senator Mario Mattera. Thank you for taking the time to join us and support our mission.

Until next year, thank you for helping us drive our mission forward. ❤️🐾

BE A FOSTER FOR THE BELOVED ANIMALS OF OUR NATION'S SOLDIERS ❤️🐾

When we first met Chance, he was barely hanging on.

He was found on a U.S. military base overseas suffering from a severe open wound infested with maggots. Weak, injured, and in pain, he would not have survived much longer without help. But one person stopped.

Chief Petty Officer Michael of the U.S. Navy refused to walk away from him, and because of that compassion, Chance got the emergency medical care he desperately needed. Together with our overseas team and supporters, Paws of War was able to save his life.

Today, Chance’s transformation is incredible.

CPO Michael's deployment has been extended due to the conflict overseas, so it will be a bit longer before we can reunite Chance with his hero. But while he waits, he is safe in a loving foster home, where he spends his days curled up in warm spots, soaking up affection.

This is what fostering does.

Fosters give animals a place to heal. A place to feel safe. A place to learn that kindness exists. It also offers service members the reassurance that the animals they save are safe until they get home.

Without fosters, stories like Chance’s would not be possible.

If you have ever considered fostering, now is the time. One open home can save a life and become part of an animal’s journey from survival to love.

Be a hero for a hero.

Open your home to one of the beloved animals our service members rescued overseas and give them a safe place to heal while they wait for the day they can be reunited.

ADOPT RAVEN OR SHADY!

The stars of Red, White & Boots may have included famous country DJ Vavo and Fox News host Todd Piro... but these two little ladies stole plenty of hearts of their own. 🐾❤️

These pups are open to any loving family.

These adorable 3-month-old Chihuahua/Cavapoo mixes were a huge hit with guests throughout the event, charming everyone they met with their playful personalities, sweet cuddles, and irresistible puppy faces.

Raven is affectionate, playful, and always ready for an adventure before curling up for cuddles. Shady is full of curiosity, sweetness, and puppy charm, with a gentle personality that wins over everyone she meets.

Due to their age, they will need someone home for part of the day.

PLEASE SHARE to help Raven and Shady find the forever homes they deserve.

As we continue celebrating the historic dogs who helped shape our great nation and honoring the four-legged heroes of America’s 250th Anniversary, we turn our attention to Sergeant Stubby, one of the most decorated dogs in American military history. 🐾

A tiger-striped stray who stowed away on a troop ship to France, Stubby became the subject of one of the most extraordinary military service stories ever told. Fighting alongside the 102nd Infantry during World War I, he saw action in 17 battles and survived both mustard gas attacks and gr***de shrapnel wounds.

Stubby saved lives by alerting soldiers to incoming gas attacks, locating wounded troops in no-man’s land who might otherwise not have been rescued, capturing a German spy, and boosting morale as a therapy companion to injured soldiers.

For his bravery, Stubby earned two Purple Hearts, multiple campaign medals, the French Grande Medal, and even a battlefield promotion to Sergeant, the first dog ever to receive that rank.

After the war, he marched in victory parades in Paris, met three U.S. Presidents, became a beloved national icon, and later served as Georgetown University’s football team mascot. Today, his legacy lives on at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.

Sergeant Stubby represents the courage, loyalty, and sacrifice of all military dogs, past and present, who have so nobly served beside America’s heroes. As we celebrate 250 years of American independence, Paws of War pays tribute to the many four-legged heroes who helped defend, and continue to defend, our freedom on battlefronts across the world.
