Good news for this Burrowing Owl!
This owl was brought to our raptor clinic after a possible collision with a window. An examination by our clinic staff found a small ulcer in its left eye. Antibiotic eye drops were placed in the eye for a few days until the issue cleared up. The owl also sustained a bruised and swollen left wrist and our clinic staff placed a carpal bumper on the wrist and wrapped it. Within less than two weeks, there was no more bruising or swelling on the wrist. After 42 days under our care, the little owl was ready to be released. Our clinic staff gave a final examination of the bird to ensure it was strong and healthy for release. Here's the owl in a carrier ready to be transported to a release location.
